The halls of the lamias' ancient city were captivating in a way in which only the best ruins were. Even with the constant intrusion of kichikandi trying to steal her focus, Josie just couldn't stop marvelling at it all. It was old, unusual, and filled with little details so easy to miss at first glance but which spoke of so much more.
Letting out a sigh, she ran a hand over a railing and relished how smooth and perfectly crafted it was. The entire city had been constructed within the mountain using what seemed to be almost exclusively subtractive architecture. They blocked out large chunks of stone with magic, removing the majority of volume via supernatural means, but all of the fine details were completed by hand.
3997 words! This one was longer to make up for the short chapter last time! (I say that but long chapters are almost always long just because I get carried away)
Anyways, originally I was really looking forward to this chapter because I wanted to use Josie's perspective to paint a picture of the ruins and I really enjoyed that. Especcially the stairs! I had a lot of fun. Buuuuuuut, what I didn't expect what how much I would enjoy Josie and Sabrina's dynamic. If you read my authors notes often, you probably already know that Sabrina is my guilty pleasure but I wasn't expecting their dynamic to be so fun. You can expect to see the two of them interact more in the future now as well~

And as always, I hope you enjoyed the chapter and that you're having a lovely day <3
