As it turned out, there wasn't much to find amidst the abandoned Lukresh ruins. The place had plenty of rooms and plenty to explore, but even after scouring the ruins for over two hours, hardly anything could be found. The rooms weren't just abandoned: they were ransacked.
Furniture, ancient and long since rotted away, was scattered in nearly every room. Flaking rusted steel was scattered amidst decayed or bone-dry wood. Unlike the ruins from before, there seemed to be no enchantments that protected everything and any books that had once filled the halls were long gone and withered to dust. Most notable of all though was not the disrepair, but how it was all scattered and how nothing valuable remained.
I really really enjoyed writing this chapter. Which is *good*. Lately, as has been expressed in previous author's notes, I've been low energy, low motivation, and just altogether not in a great state to write stuff. But recently I've been reading some other things that give me inspiration and get me excited to share ideas (taking my writing slow also has probably helped and acted as a pseudo break, even if I've now lost all of my backlog).
I also have ideas that I'm really looking forward to in the novel as well, and while most of those are in volume three, I'm looking forward to things in this concluding arc of volume two as well! The end of this chapter and what's to come next is probably what I'm most excited for in the short term if I'm being honest and it leaves me excited to write more! (which, you know, is kinda a really good thing considering I wanna write more and enjoy the process)
Well, that's about all I had to say though. I'm just happier than I have been in the last bit and it feels so much better to write when I'm feeling enthusiastic. Slumps suck.
Now, if you wanna give support or feedback, I'll always happily encourage it, but also, as per usual, feel free to swing by the tiny discord, say hi, and talk about novels and stuff :3 It can be found here: https://discord.gg/hJWSVx2uhT
And as always, I hope you're having a wonderful day~
