"What a fucking cunt."
"Eleanor! Language!"
The rebuke was sharp and certainly reprimanding, however a slight smile never left the Archduke's eyes. She was right afterall, though perhaps he might not use the same words. Daniil Federov was a pompous and self righteous prick, and now he flew down upon a giant monstrous bird-monster, all for the sake of making himself appear scary. It was a scare tactic, not aimed at Aeneas himself, but instead at his citizens and the others in the castle.
Over at the window, his daughter glared daggers as the other archduke landed, clearly unimpressed. Looks like the scare tactic didn't work on her either.
Looooooong chapter. I didn't feel like splitting it and without uploading daily, there's less of an incentive to make shorter chapters. I hope you enjoyed it!
Also, I was kinda hesitant with Eleanor's fashion as it's probably one of the most anachronistic things in the book, but I literally cannot imagine her as anything other than being something close to a punk/goth style. I tried to describe things with a more medieval twist buuuuut, leather jackets first became a thing in the early 1900's. I hope that wasn't too jarring for anyone reading and I apologise if it was. I just can't even think of her settling for something old fashioned. It's not her vibe.
And I hope you enjoyed everything else as well. When I edited the chapter, I was proud of what I wrote and I liked to imagine Daniil alternating his speach between overly feminine and overly masculine and that was fun. All in all, I just had fun this chapter so I hope you did too.
And, as always, I hope you're having a wonderful day!
