Bab 88: Moonlit meadow

Without hesitating for a moment, everyone got into position and prepared to fight. Lyla and Gyarm stood to either side of the doorway in case the soldier's managed to get through the tunnel and breach into their room. Meanwhile Robbert and Cyril remained to the rear as they took cover behind an erected barricade. While their marching order would usually have Gyarm be the vanguard, in a situation like this where stealth and the sound of armour didn't matter, Dahlia and Bessie were going to be the primary combatants.

There was a pause where everyone held their breath, waiting for what was to come. The steady sound of clattering armour and heavy footfalls could be heard, but due to how the tunnel connecting the barrows wasn't straight, it made it so no one yet had line of sight on their targets. In an instant that changed though and suddenly five soldiers could be seen approaching with shields and weapons raised.
