The entirety of the Lukresh castle was in chaos as people rushed around. Maids were taking care of their leiges, squires were preparing themselves and their associated knight, chefs were organising last minute food for warriors and other staff, and said knights, warriors, and guards were each preparing themselves in their own way. Few people could sit back idly at a time like this after all.
Two days had passed since the initial order had been released, a large camp had been formed outside of the city, and by the afternoon an entire army would begin their march to the east. In a rather lavish room within the castle, two women were together with one packing a set of bags for each of them while the other sat on the large plush bed, legs crossed and eyes closed as she seemed to be meditating.
Today's chapter is brought to you by... public transit! After spending six hours going from my parent's place to my own, I managed to type (with many typos) this chapter on my phone! There was a baby crying like a little gremlin for a while, so hopefuly it turned out alright!
I kinda briefly felt like mentioning this, but some of you likely noticed that I use cultivation terms a fair amount and I definitely pull a lot of inspiration from that type of setting. However, as I'm more familiar with western fantasy, I decided to mostly stick with that for this novel. As a result, I also throw in a lot of references to various mythology, cultures, etc.
I lack a lot of knowledge in a lot of these cases, and I don't intend for them to remain true to their origins, but I hope when they come up it remains respectful of their cultures and is a fun/ interesting thing for you readers as well as you discover cool mythological creatures or have an 'ah-ha!' moment when you hear a thing you recognise.
I rambled again. Oops.
Anyway, as always, I hope you're having a wonderful day and I wish you a very happy new year!!!
