Bab 70: Exploring - (Makai's Point of View)

"I'm sorry," Storm says after a while.

"You don't need to- "

"No, I do. I shouldn't have flared up like that. I'm sorry. I should have known that it would go against nature for the rekan wolf to let his mate go out alone in an unknown city."

Rising from my seat, I kiss his cheek. "Apology accepted, Sunshine. Let's get- "

"Washroom!"

"What?" I look up from the dishes I am gathering.

"I can teleport us to an empty washroom stall. We used the bathroom when we were there so I can teleport us there."

"How will you know if it's empty?"

"It's a little tricky, but I will send a seeking spell to precede us while we teleport."

"And if there is no empty stall?"

"It will bring us back here. The trick is to add a fail-safe to the spell such that if the preceding seeking spell finds no empty stall, we get teleported back to our original spot."

"What happens if there is no fail-safe?"

He chuckles. "We would be stuck in limbo until a stall is free, which isn't...ideal."
