Bab 62: After Dark 1- (Makai's Point of View)

"Kai, this is Kane, and the other two are Mark and Timmy. Guys, you know Makai, right? He's my mate." The pride with which Storm introduces me to everyone never fails to send a rush of surprised pleasure. It calms both Kitai and me.

It has been fifteen years since I've been this close to them, but I can never forget our last encounter. Apparently, they haven't either. We have all grown up, but I am at least a head taller than all of them and much broader. It gives me petty satisfaction to see that I am also better put together.

I make a mental note to thank Zane again for this makeover.

"We've met," I tell Storm flatly.

Mark and Timmy glance nervously at each other and force smiles. "Hello, Makai."

I don't know whether to feel sorry for them or disgusted that they were still playing sidekick to a mean bully at their big age.

I incline my head. "Hello."

I don't even spare Kane a glance.

Storm looks between us with a frown.

"You have? When?"
