There will be quite a Few AU elements. I'll be mostly using the Light Novels instead of the anime though I will take some plot points from the anime as well that I just like better.

Magic is going to have a lot more focus in this story compared to the original where it mostly took a backseat to things. That said, this really isn't an action heavy story so don't expect too many fight scenes, though there will be some. Which also might pick up in frequency in later arcs.

Will probably be a harem story, though not sure how many. At the very least there are 3 confirmed members. All Yuri btw. If that is not to your taste, simply don't read. Complaining about it won't change a thing unless you offer criticism based solely on my story and how things are progressing and not the works of others and your previous experiences with them.
