Bab 11: Chapter 11: Troubles

We don’t talk for the rest of the day. The flight home is silent, and as soon as we land, Dominik walks into the castle and disappears into one of the many rooms. Not wanting to disturb him, I went off to my room and stayed there until nightfall.

We meet again in the dining room, Dominik tentatively calling me for dinner. I sit next to him and begin eating, waiting for him to make conversation. After 10 minutes of silence, I sigh and place my fork and knife on the plate with a clatter.

“Have I done something to offend you?” I ask, looking at him and furrowing my brows.

He glances up for only a moment, his eyes swiftly shifting away. “Why would you think such?”

“You haven’t spoken to me since this morning,” I say. “I feel like I must have said something wrong.”

He huffs, stuffing a forkful of roast bird into his mouth. “You have not spoken to me either. Are you angry with me?”

I frown at that. “I would have spoken to you if you had spoken to me,” I say.
