Bab 138: Now or never

"I keep hearing this, but I am still alive." Cyrus replied curtly and stood up, the snow on his clothes. "What exactly are you doing here? Aren't you aware that I am trying not to rip your head off your body?" He inquired casually.

Darren's brow furrowed. "As a result of Sage? You do not love her like I do." He grumbled.

Cyrus didn't want to waste his strength on the halfling because if he did, he would almost certainly kill Darren. "Unrequited love, how sad." He then walked past Cyrus, but Darren grabbed his wrist.

"I have no connection to the statkus mages; this is my first encounter with them, and I do not even recall my parents. I am not a threat; all I want is to protect Sage." Darren spoke in hushed tones.

Cyrus, enraged by the halfling, yanked his hand away and glared murderously at Darren.
