Bab 152: Old Feelings Anew

When Varya suddenly excused herself, both of the doctors couldn't help looking at each other with shocked expressions and timidly looking away. 

Being around each other put them back in the same state of mind they were in their late 20s when they originally planned to get married. They were both figures who excelled in their individual fields from a young age but when they were around each other, they found themselves easy to blush and stumble over their words. 

Unfortunately, Emperor Kruos took away the ability for their relationship to mature or for them to grow together and they never got over the nervous butterflies in the stomach stage.

"The work of an empress is truly never over, is it?" Dr. Brie asked. 

There was an awkward silence settling in for a moment but it was dissipated when dessert was brought out for the two doctors. 

Dr. Brie's eyes widened in delight as he saw the shortcake with berries piled high on it.
