At Varya's admittance that she wanted to promote Dr. Salus, she was pleased to see that the doctor was surprised. 

"I have given Dr. Brie here permission to do as he pleases with the labs but I wanted to offer you the same courtesy for your years of hard work for the Ptoman Empire," Varya finally finished talking." 

"Thank you so much, Varya," Dr. Salus said. "That means a lot to me that my hard work hasn't gone unnoticed." 

She didn't want to be outwardly disrespectful, but she always felt that her efforts were completely ignored during the reign of the last emperor. 

"You saved my life and Prince Basileus's life many times over," Varya admitted. "There's no one I trust more to be making decisions for the hospital." 

"Congratulations, Cora," Dr. Brie said. "You have always been the best at what you do."
