"Blacky!" Cai reacted quickly and sprang to grab Blacky before he hit the tree.

Manutang's advantageous positioning and fast reactions allowed her to rescue the cat. It's a shame she banged her face on a tree.

Miya boosted Varis up to his feet. "Are you all right?" Concernedly meeting his gaze.

"I'm fine, thanks Miya." Varis dashed over to Cai. He gave Blacky a bear hug of affection. "Oh, thank God, how fortunate. In appreciation, Cai. Oh my, your nose is bleeding."

"Hah, it's nothing. Varis, hurry up, to the rescue of the mischievous cat immediately. Quick, before he freezes to the dead!"

As rapidly as they could, they sprinted till they reached a solitary green hill. They were being bathed in an ever-increasing ray of sunlight.

"You guys, what are you doing over there?" From his vantage point on the road, Hamilton could see Varis and friend in the distance and waved to them.
