Shirou sipped the tea he prepared for himself and his guests with his eyes closed, enjoying the taste to the fullest.
Even Tea, such a simple thing in his hands became delicious.
"So?"
His eyes opened lazily and stared at the young woman in front of him. She was sitting there, impatiently staring at him, as if expecting something to happen, well, he had to disappoint her sooner rather than later.
"So? what do you mean, "So"?"
He raised an eyebrow, looking at her like she was doing something foolish, which she was, she was expecting him, Shirou Emiya, to be serious.
"Why didn't you tell me you were a magus?!"
She exclaimed, slamming her palms down on the small table in front of her, looking relatively pissed off.
He hummed in thought, thinking about how to turn this situation around, maybe, just maybe, she would make sense right now...
"Why didn't you tell me you were a magus, Rin?"
She paused, and just then when he held hope, she stabbed it with a thousand knives and burned it to the ground like it was a particularly big cockroach.
"This isn't about me, Emiya-Kun! You are a magus, I am the second owner of Fuyuki, I should know when there are other Magi in my territory!"
The glare intensified, seemingly gaining the ability to burn through metal, and for a sword incarnation, that was very worrying.
"You are the second owner of Fuyuki? What does that mean? Can you get anything without paying? Cus if you can, I will be very salty about those five most expensive items you bought a few times in restaurants. I could have made at least three swords with those."
His tone gradually turned from curiosity to monotone, deadpanning at her. Rin's jaw dropped, probably at his audacity, and silently stared at the holiness that resided within him...
Okay, enough of that, he was very amused at the look but still masked it with a deadpan, now was not the time for jokes, they were in a war... technically.
"That's not the-Ugh! You're still insufferable, even in a high-concept situation like this."
He quirked an eyebrow, High-Concept?
"You think this is high-concept? Let's talk about the moon."
Archer materialized at those words, leaning on a wall with a glare aimed straight at him, looking very irritated at the situation.
"You be quiet about the moon."
Shirou snorted, another reference made a few dozen more to go.
Rin glanced at her servant and then at him before finally groaning and plopping down in her place, her face screamed frustration as she slammed her head in her hands.
"Anyway, enough about the moon, let's talk about this situation. I admit, my knowledge of the war of seven heroic spirits for the artifact that can grant you a wish is limited. Do I just brutally murder every master in the war to win or...?"
He trailed off, letting Rin connect the dots. She visibly grimaced, knowing that he could actually do that with enough distance between him and his opponent while his servant would be able to hold off her Archer for him to land a hit on her, and she knew that there was a low chance of her surviving a hit from one of his "Arrows".
"You need to register at the church first."
She remarked and straightened up with a sigh, taking her cup and sipping the tea he made.
Shirou, meanwhile was actually processing the fact that he needed to sign up to actually participate in this war, it never made sense, why would one sign up if they already had a servant? The anonymity would be an advantage and masters could "Camp" the church to eliminate anyone that tried to get there.
"Why the church? The grail is of magical origin, right? Did the church copy right it because of the word "Holy"?"
He questioned as he stood up, stretching his arms with a groan. He had no wish to go to the other side of the city just to visit the fake priest. It seemed like too much trouble, not to mention the act he had to keep up.
He didn't like keeping up an act.
"Alright, it's just me, myself, and I, along with Tsun-Tsun, off to the church we go!"
In the corner of his eye, he could see Archer tense slightly at his words, it would have gone unnoticed if someone wasn't looking out for it.
Then, a sudden memory hit him... He had to face Berserker and his psycho "Sister".... Fuuuuu-
____
-ccccccck!
As they walked along the empty road, with Rin and Saber walking next to him, Shirou's brain worked tirelessly on coming up with a solution.
Archer and Saber could stall Berserker. If Muramasa used his noble phantasm, he was sure that berserker could have been eliminated entirely, but his servant would be gone entirely because of that.
What to do, what to do...
He could kill Lilia, eliminating the grail with her but then Gilgamesh would come after him and he wasn't sure he could deal with a pissed-off king of heroes without preparation.
Sighing, he focused back on the road, there was still a bit before they reached the church, slowly, his eyes drifted to Rin, observing her as she walked.
Damn, he had to face her too.
"Hey, Rin, I don't wanna kill you."
She turned to him with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh? What makes you so sure that you can kill me, Emiya-Kun?"
His expression didn't change to amusement as it normally would, he just stared at her blankly. He really didn't want to kill her, she was the only friend he had, between the school he wanted to nuke and the house he spend most of his free time in, she was the only one he actually interacted with.
"Just remember that, Rin."
He turned his head to the night sky, ignoring the huff the only female of the group let out.
