Luca smiled even though he was saddened by the news. “Thank you for letting me know,” he said and rose from the sofa.
“Luca, we will do our best to cheer her even if we have to wear clown jumpsuits every day,” Rapha voiced his determination. He hoped to see the man he raised like his own smile again.
“That is not necessary, Rapha.” Luca chuckled, brushing off the sadness he felt in his chest. “But, keep looking after my mother.”
“You can count on us all for that,” Rapha replied enthusiastically.
“By the way, I will come with someone next week,” Luca informed him.
Rapha raised an eyebrow. “Someone?” It was rare for Luca to use the general term when addressing a guest.
Luca smiled. “Yes, a woman that I want to introduce to my mother and everyone in this house. I hope everyone likes her.”
“Are you getting married?!” Rapha gasped in excitement. His eyes gleamed.
