Chapter 61: Quidditch time
It was Hufflepuff versus Gryffindor. The second game of the year for Hufflepuff and Harry was unfortunately dragged to watch it.
"I already told you that I have no interest in Quidditch" Harry huffed.
Susan rolled her eyes. "Yes, we heard you the first fifty times. But you need to watch the games once in a while and show support to your Housemates. Look, even Luna is supporting our team!."
She pointed at Luna, who was currently wearing a hat in the shape of a badger. The hat would also move and make noises sometimes.
"I love your hat, Luna." Hannah complimented.
"Thanks, I made it myself," Luna said proudly.
"Ohh that was a close call!." The announcer said. The new Gryffindor seeker was almost hit by a bludger. She was a small redheaded girl called Ginny Weasley.
—-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Almost an hour later the score was 110 for Gryffindor and 120 for Hufflepuff.
Harry was beyond bored and was trying to occupy his mind with something else.
Susan, Hannah, and Luna were still cheering loudly every time Hufflepuff scored points.
"How long does this last?" Harry asked bitterly. He, of course, has knowledge about the existence of Quidditch for a long time, but He never really bothered to learn much of it, He does however remembers that games could last for a ridiculous amount of time.
"Until one of the seekers catches the golden snitch. As long as that takes. I heard of a professional game that took six months. " Susan answered.
Seeing Harry's pale face, Hannah decided to intervene.
"That's true for professional games but in Hogwarts, the game ends after three hours if no one caches the snitch, and the team with more points wins the game."
While they were distracted talking, they suddenly heard someone screaming and a lot of people gasping.
"Look!." Luna said while pointing at the sky.
Harry looked in the direction that Luna was pointing and saw the reason for the screams.
Hundreds of dementors were hovering over the quidditch pitch. Cedric Digory was quickly descending on his broom to get away from the creatures. He kept looking back and screaming something.
Then, from the cloud of dementors, a small figure was spotted falling down.
More gasps and screams were heard. It was Ginny Weasley, the Gryffindor seeker, the one falling down without a broom.
The Headmaster stood up and cast a wandless feather fall charm on the girl, then He pulled out his wand and used his Patronus to chase away the dementors. McGonagall and Pomona Sprout, who were next to Him, also pulled their wands and cast their Patronus.
The three white figures flew through the air until they reached the dementors. The dark creatures wasted no time flying away from the pitch.
Hannah was looking at Ginny, who had just landed softly. Madame Pomfrey was already moving swiftly towards her.
"Oh no, is she okay? Has she been kissed?"
Harry gave Luna a glance. "Can you check?."
Luna's eyes gained a slight shine as she looked toward Ginny.
"Her stomach thingy is still shining brightly."
"Magical core…" Harry corrected. " That means she is fine. You can be at ease Hannah."
The magical core and soul were directly connected. If a dementor takes someone's soul, their core should quickly lose its brightness and become dull in color.
"So…we won?" Susan asked.
"Susan!, don't be so insensitive!" Hannah admonished her friend.
Susan raised her hands in defense. "Hey, I'm not trying to be insensitive, but come on. Cedric was about to catch the snitch, and We were ahead in points, so…"
"Everyone is leaving the stadium, we should do the same." Harry pointed out
"What a bummer of an ending…" Luna said softly.
—--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the end, Hufflepuff was declared the winner. The Gryffindors complained, and to the surprise of many Cedric Diggory supported their complaints and said that the game should have been declared a draw.
Dumbledore was enraged with the Minister and demanded to have the dementors removed from Hogwarts, not only were they a danger to the students but there hasn't been a single sighting of Sirius Black or any of the other criminals who were still on the loose.
The Minister conceded a little bit. The dementors were placed further away from the school, but not removed completely. To make up for this, a small group of Aurors was sent to guard Hogwarts and the surrounding areas.
—-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sometime after that, Harry was eating dinner when his owl Nagi landed in front of him.
He had left the owl back in the Potter manor, that way Lorry could contact him if there was something that required his attention.
Harry took the note while Luna gave the owl some meat.
The girls looked at Him with curiosity since it was a rare event for Harry to receive anything that wasn't the newspaper.
None of them bothered to ask about the note because they knew that Harry was a very private person and would not reveal anything.
The note informed Harry that Sirius was doing better after having food, clothes, and a bath. Lorry never mentioned the name Sirius in the note and instead referred to him as 'the guest'. The elf knew better than to mention the name of the most wanted man in England.
The second part of the note is about the errant that Harry asked of him. Lorry managed to contact that person and sent the message that Harry wrote down.
'All that's left now is wait and see. What are you going to do…'
