The spaceship was no longer capable to fight because they had used its electromagnetic pulse bomb before.

Therefore, the people on the spaceship could only abandon the ship and escape. However, it was once the sewer of the city, and the Sentinels were more familiar with the terrain here.

Although everyone had left the spaceship long ago, they hadn't gone too far. Hence, the Sentinels still discovered them and caught up with them.
