Bab 58: Fairy 50: Town known as Foglia Part II
Zack, who normally enjoys ale, but also fine drinks like wine, and strong ones, like whisky. While Vottes seems to be a big fan of wine, dislike the taste of ales, and even more when it come to strong drinks, like whisjy.
As the two begin drinking the wine in the wineglasses before them. Zack glances towards Vottes, who only drank third of her glass, and begin to turn and spin the glass in her glass.
"I know… they cannot find me as easily as before… but I still can't stop the voice in my head. That maybe if I drink too much. They might find me again… here I was hoping to drink without any worries." Vottes said with a wryly smile.
"Don't worry, I am here, and it does not like they going to find you right away. So, drink all you want. Even if they do, I will chase them away, like those… whatever you call them brothers." Zack went, as he drinks the glass until halfway.
"Minot… actually that doesn't matter, you right. I might as well enjoy myself… and you too, enjoy yourself." When Vottes said that, for some reason, Zack felt a different reason why Vottes said that, with a widen smile. But he let it go, after all, he just glad she is now letting herself loose, after all this time.
"As long you like it, I am fine." Zack honestly told, and finished off his wineglass. While Vottes just took another drink herself, and shown a warm smile when she heard. But also recall something important she wanted to know for a long time now.
"Say Zack, I been wondering for a long time… but how many are you planning to add to your harem. Only one I know is this Mirajane, and me, right? Is there others, or can you tell me more about Mirajane as well?"
It is Vottes honest curiosity and feelings. She is truly interested in this woman, that Zack openly fond of. It will be a lie, to say she felt not jealous, each time his looks changed, when he mentions her name.
On the other hand, Zack was about to downed the last remaining wine in his month, was spat out instead, when he heard Vottes's question, and for some reason he also become nervous as well.
Of course, Zack's actions, and Vottes's sudden bold word of harem did made many around them, stopped what they doing, and stared at the table, where the duo sat at. Of course, the duo, Vottes and Zack didn't pay anyone in their surroundings any attention. And carried their talk.
"Since when you become part of my harem…?" Zack firstly said, which for some reason made Vottes laugh.
"Really? You still denying it ah~? But who was the one that got all jelly, when they saw that guard checking out my chest and behind? Or why didn't you deny it, when someone hit on me, and I told them I am your lover? Hmm, what could that be about~?"
When Vottes said that in a teasing voice, she smiled happily seeing how cute Zack become, as his face become all redden hearing her question. Of course, before Zack could answer, the onlookers butted in, before he could get a chance to.
"Harem…? D-Did I hear that right, right?"
"Youths these days are so shameless."
"Dame I am jealous- I mean how dare they do such a moral thing!"
Of course, both Vottes, that didn't care what the onlookers said. And Zack that too focus on Vottes to notice, wasn't bothered by their onlookers' feelings. And begin to speak his mind.
"J-Jelly…? No… that wasn't jelly or whatever it means, it just… when they look at you, with those eyes for some reason, I just want crushed them, and their eyes. I just don't like the way, they look at you like that…" Zack said, and for some reason when he said that he felt embarrassed for some reason, that he couldn't understand himself why he does.
On the other hand, Vottes, who heard what he said, and knew his meaning, that he doesn't understand himself. Cannot help dyed her cheeks in red, while her smile become even gentler when she heard what he said.
And the onlookers, that overheard Zack?
"T-That's jealous, right!?"
{Hahaha, oh my Master, it seems you still hasn't realised it yet, well it fun in it's own way.}
"Crushed them? He just said he wanted to crushed them and their eyes, if that not jealous, what is it then!?"
Hearing the voices around him. For some reason, Zack swears he just heard Nightfall's voice. But he let it go, as he heard a giggling laugh in front of him.
"Hehe, I see~" Vottes went with a flourishing smile, matched with her redden cheeks. No matter how one look at it, this is a maiden in love, as she looked at Zack with warm fill eyes, and a smile, that could even melt the hardest of ice.
Zack stared at her, even felt his heart being to beat. But before he could realised this, Zack eyes widen, feeling the ill intentions of jealousy all around him.
They looked at Zack, if they looks could kill him. But to the dense Zack, has no clue why people around him are either looking at him, like those at the guild look at a certain playboy in the guild, as well, a close friend to Zack.
And there also looks of envy as well. Zack just tilted his head, not understanding what he did wrong. Or the fact, that everyone either looked at Zack, if he some playboy scum, or someone they wanted to become.
After that, Zack did what Vottes asked of him. He told her about Mirajane. He told Vottes how they met, at the moment he truly knows nothing about the world.
To be honest, Vottes was jealous hearing about this girl, that took first place in his heart. However, when she heard about Lisanna, and her death not long ago. And how they went on their own ways to change for the better.
Vottes recalled that Zack did say, he was on this training journey before. She has forgotten about it, since at that time, she was rejected by him in that lake, and also was shown 'something' that made her pass out.
'Mirajane huh… maybe I have to see her in person, to see what she like, before I judge who she is. Even so… my instincts are really strange… I wonder if that Natsu person, Zack told me, is the same. I know instinctive… it be impossible for me, to even handle Zack… i-in the bedroom… Needless to say, I don't mind sharing… but I do mind who I am sharing with'
'Least I wanted, for someone to take advantage of his kindness and his feelings, and hurt him, or drive him crazy. Or simply want just for…'
Vottes was unable to thought of the last thing, the thing she seen in the lake. As a blush creep on her cheeks, as she recalled that night.
As a Dragon Slayer, whose senses are far greater then any normal wizard. Vottes could tell, there no way she could handle Zack alone. She personally seen how much stamina Zack has, that seems almost endless. Not to mention, the 'monster' that cannot get out of her head.
That is why, she knew, once Zack given himself to is lust, there no way that this single Dragon Slayer could handle him by herself. Knowing this, a sigh came out of her mouth, as she looked at Zack.
"Something the matter?" Zack asked.
"It just you know, I don't know if it because I am a Dragon Slayer, but my senses, my instincts tells me, it be impossible for me alone to handle you." Vottes honestly told Zack, with a hint of seriousness in her voice. Which did shocked Zack, when he heard her.
"Cannot handle me??" Zack went with a wryly smile, not understanding her meaning. While Vottes, who could see that Zack didn't get it, but still carried on either way.
"I mean that, I don't want anyone to take advantage of you, and your kindness… I don't mind sharing you, but I do mind who I am sharing you with… I don't want you to get hurt. That is why… even if it were to be this Mirajane, or whoever else, if they only together with you to take average of you, even if you end up hating me, I will stop anyone from taking advantage of you… even if I have to kill."
Zack stared at Vottes who said that. Normally, Zack will he angry when someone insult Mirajane like that. And yet, Zack cannot.
Because he knows she is right. Her concerns are real, and honest. That is why many complex emotions beginning to dwell inside his heart, as the words what Vottes said earlier also ring inside his head.
'Don't mind sharing… but do mind sharing with…'
Zack never thought of this. What will happen, if his harem is full of people that dislike each other? Even if Zack loves that person, will it be right to bring them to his side, while they don't get along with others in his harem? It only it be unfair to him but even them.
It is impossible to make them all happy or love them all the same. But least he wanted for his future wives or lovers, is for them to feel at ease, and safe around him. He wanted his harem to understand each other, not to like each other. He doesn't want any infighting in his harem.
It only until now, that Zack realised this. Realising why he wanted a harem, is because God told him to? No, it is because God told him he had to.
Nobles, have harems because of bloodline, and bring other noble families closer to each other. But in the end, they are the ones that have most infighting among other harems. Making their own families the most dangerous place to be in.
Playboys, and lustful men, they have harems to refill their sexual desires. And most of them don't even care what their women inner feelings are, as long their lower member get some action.
And there are people like Zack, someone who inhuman enough that they cannot be pleased with one lover. And bound to cheat, because of their unpleasantness sex life, it not their lover's fault, but their boundless strength, that cannot be satisfied with one lover.
'I haven't change at all… have I?' Zack went, as he got up for next round of wine for the both of them.
There still many things, that Zack Smasher doesn't understand. And many things that he doesn't even know himself. Like the truth, he has feelings for Vottes, but too afraid to dwell right into them.
It was today, that Zack Smasher discovered, there is more that just having a harem, or owning one. He never once thought, what it meant to be part of one, or the wellbeing of his members and lovers. Or how many should he have.
After all, Zack Smasher is still growing in many ways.
