Bab 41: Fairy 33: The Minot Brothers
The Minot Brothers, they're infamous bounty hunters, who hunt down bounties that been issued by the underworld. And Vottes Brave also knows them a little too well as well.
After all, if it wasn't for them, the current state of her body wouldn't be like this. In fact, she was lucky she could flee from them because they underestimated her. It was only her quick wits, that allowed Vottes to fool the hulky fatty among the brothers, the one that just cast that Earth Spear at them.
His name is Hax Minot, an Earth Wizard. But it not his Magic that makes Hax a trouble opponent to face. After all, with magic alone, Hax is only slightly better than most B-Class Wizards, but weaker than a A-Class Wizard. What makes this fatty troublesome, is his physical strength alone, that can rival a S-Class Wizard who specialise in physical strength alone!
And there is the thinnest among the Minot Brothers. He is the same height as Hax, and unlike the normal vest top and pants, with leather boots that Hax has on. This tall thin guy, that is known as Ta Minot, has cowboy getup as his clothing.
He is known as Ta Minot, he is a Gun Wizard, those that uses Gun Magic. And like Hax, his Magic alone is only A-Class at most, or even B-Class maybe. However, what makes this guy troublesome is the sole fact, he is very fast and agile, that even S-Class Wizards has a headache when facing him.
However, among the three brothers, as Hax is the strength, and Ta is the speed among them. The real problem isn't those two, but the one, the short guy that keep giving lustful looks over Vottes's body.
His name is Ko Minot, and the oldest among the three Minot Brothers. He is the brains, as well a Seal Wizard, who specialise in Sealing Magic.
Vottes cannot help to feel fear, as she faced them. After all, they are famous bounty hunters, that can take down S-Class Wizards when they team up. If it wasn't for the fact Black Rivers' Guild Leader wants Vottes alive, she will be dead a long time ago.
Because of that, because she knew there is no hope to flee from them. Still in Zack's embrace, she tightly grabbed into his chest, trying to calm down her anxious heart.
"Boy, isn't it a little too early to do such things, especially with another man's woman? And lass, put on some clothes!" Ta, the thin cowboy said, and shouted at Vottes with a blush on his face.
"Someone else's woman…? I am not no one's woman!" Vottes went with annoyance, and even bit her lips saying that.
"It doesn't matter girly if you are or not. What does matter, is when Mister Rivers is promised something, he gets what he is promised, no matter what stands in his way." Ko went, as he liked his lips, seeing such a feast to his eyes, when he looked at Vottes's half naked body. Unlike his little brother, Ta, Ko is no shy middle-aged man.
"Don't make me laugh, I never agree or wanted to be that sicko's woman, no, slave in the first place!" Vottes shouted.
"It doesn't matter lass what you think. You should know well that this world is an unfair place, with bad guys like us." Ta went, trying to act hard boiled, however, the blush on his cheeks, or the fact he doesn't know where to stare at Vottes, made him look like an innocent boy, trying to act like the villain.
But his eyes turned serious, as he looked at Zack, who still holding Vottes in his arms.
"Boy… I told you to let go off her, didn't your parents never told you to listen to your adults." Ta went, as he pointed his revolver at Zack's head.
"I don't know, I don't know about my parents, since I lost memories about them. However, I am very sure, there wouldn't agree of such scumbags forcing themselves on an innocent woman."
With still serious look in his eyes. Zack then picked up Vottes, who blushed, as she got lift into a princess carry, but even so, she suppresses her beating heart, and her out control emotions. And wrapped her arms around Zack's shoulders, knowing she must be closer to him.
"Scumbags…!? Don't call my brothers that!!" Hax, who had been stay quiet until all this time. Burn with rage, as he felt his brothers being insulted, and rush towards Zack with all intentions of smashing Zack into the ground!
And then with a fist, that even S-Class Wizards are wary of. Was sent towards Zack's face, with all intentions to kill him. However, Zack didn't dodge, he simply looked at the incoming fist with no concerns, and even freed his right hand, that were holding Vottes, and reached out palm out, to caught Hax's fist.
When Vottes saw what Zack's intentions are, her heart skipped a beat out of fear, knowing about Hax's monstrous strength, which why she cannot help but to shout this: "Idiot, that fool's strength…!?"
However, before Vottes could finish warning Zack about Hax's inhuman strength. It was too late, as fist and palm clashed against each other, to her surprised. Vottes's pink eyes widen in shock, as she watches Zack effortlessly grabbed Hax's fist, like it was nothing.
Even the two other brothers, Ta, and Ko, who cursed seeing their fatty of a brother, but also lacking in the head. Just rushed forward like a raging bull, and strikes towards Zack and Vottes, and hoped their target wouldn't be hurt.
However, their jaws dropped to the ground, as they looked in shock, seeing that their younger brother's fist was caught like it weighed nothing in Zack's hand.
"In the end… your Strength Stat is only B-… unlike my B ranked Strength… now let me see the difference between the ranks with only one tier between them!" When Zack shouted that, he raised his right leg only to kicked Hax's body and sent him flying tens of meters backwards!
Zack knew, his kick wouldn't kill that fatty in one shot, even if it were to hurt a lot, and damage wouldn't be small. But Hax has C++ in his Resistance Stat.
And in the first place, that kick wasn't meant to defeat him. It was meant to shock the Minot Brothers, so Zack could find an opening, an opening to flee along with Vottes.
That is why, Zack didn't delay a single second longer, and cast his Gravity Magic, and coated a layer of gravity around her body, before he used his Gravity Magic once more, only to forcedly pull both him and Vottes backwards, deeper into the systems of the cave itself, and away from the trio before them.
Ko were the first one to snapped out of this state of confusion, seeing his fata*s little brother being flung into the air. And noticed that Zack and their target, Vottes had flew backwards, and flee away from them.
"You idiots! They are getting away! Ta, get them! And Hax, get up you lazy bum!" Ko ordered and shouted.
"On it, brother." Ta simply says that, and used Wind Magic, his secondly magic to blast him after Zack and Vottes.
"Ouch… it hurts big brother…" Hax went… feeling like crying, as there is a red mark of someone's boot on his chest.
"Don't whine! You got careless, that all! Come on, let's get them!" Ko went and slapped his little brother's head. And begun to chase after his other little brother.
"D-Don't leave me behind big brothers!" Hax begun crying, as he run after his big brother.

At the time, when Zack finished healing Vottes to the best of his abilities. Since his Light Magic wasn't advance enough, to fully deal with major life threating wounds.
Zack begun to explore within the cave, thanks to that, Zack knows the system of the cave then anyone else. That is why, he knew where he is going, as he carried Vottes like a princess, as he uses Gravity Magic to zoom like some kind of sport car, without getting lost.
And because his attention is fully on what lies ahead of him. He didn't notice that Vottes had been staring at him this whole time.
'It's warm…'
Is what Vottes thought, as she herself never been helped this far by someone. No, there was one time, when someone did go this far for her… but in the end, they had given into their own greed, and betray her. Since then, she begun to distrust anyone besides herself.
That is why, this young woman, cannot help herself, from staring at Zack, who not only show her his kindness, but also helped her, a stranger, even when he is facing this kind of situation, with people that willing to kill him.
Doesn't he understand how much danger he is in? Doesn't he understand, these three brothers, the Minot Brothers, will kill him in order to get her?
And yet… why does her heart beat so fast and strangely? She felt like something unknown is slowly forming in her heart. But her distrust towards others, also suppress those new emotions manifesting in her heart.
Which is also why, still in his arms, and no idea where they're going inside this cave. Vottes cannot help herself, from asking Zack this…
"Why do this much for someone you just met?" Vottes went staring at his green grassy eyes of his.
"Why? Why… if I have to say. If I leave a defenceless woman alone and didn't even help her. I wouldn't have courage to show my face to my guild. No, in fact, I know my guild members will beat me, and look at me with disgust, and Master will without a doubt, will strip the Fairy Mark, the symbol of our guild off my chest."
As soon Zack finished saying that, he free one of his hands holding Vottes. And begin to undo the chest area of his jacket. Of course, Vottes as the young maiden she really is. Blushed when she saw him doing that. But soon her attention was on the red Fairy Mark on Zack's chest.
"You did it… for your guild's rules…?" For some reason, when Vottes asked that. She felt sad, thinking the only reason she is being saved, is because of some guild rule. Somehow, she felt betrayed for some reason.
"Rules…? Wait… do Fairy Tail have rules? Anyway, my point is, I am not doing this because of some law or rule. Anyone in my guild will do the same. And it not because of guild rules, or laws or whatever else there is. We do this because we don't want to regret out actions in the future.
Wizards of Fairy Tail live every day, as their first and last. Because we don't want to regret anything in our lives. And I don't want to regret leaving a dying woman alone in some forest, to become monster feed. I don't want to regret doing nothing. That makes me feel no different than scum themselves.
I will live every day, as my last and my first, and lived it at the fullest as I could. I will protect everyone I held dear to me, that is my only desire, besides building a harem. God himself told me to live my days to the fullest, and with no regrets, and to build a harem. That is why, I will live every day at my fullest, and build myself a harem." Zack said all that, having no clue, at the end of it, he looked like a real true zealot. (AN: Lol)
"I don't know that harem thingy is. But what if the person before you, have 10,000,000 Jewel bounty from the underworld? Will you still protect them? Will you still protect me…?"
Unknowingly, when Vottes said that last part, tears begin to form in her beautiful light pink eyes, and even drip down her flawless cheeks and face.
As she looked both frighten and scared what Zack will do. Even if she has no clue, she just unwillingly admitted she the one with the huge bounty on her head.
"Wow, that's a lot." As Zack simply said that. And because he still looking forward. He didn't noticed that Vottes's expression turned lifeless, when she looked at his shocked facial expression, when he said those words.
'I knew it…'
Vottes felt like crying, she finally thought she found someone who that wouldn't betray her. Who wouldn't give into their greed. But seeing the astonished look on Zack's face, when she mentions the amount of her bounty, caused her heart to seal itself.
However, Zack's next choice of words, caused the chains wrapped around her heart to be shattered, one by one.
"Even if they offer me billions or trillions Jewels to betray anyone I knew. I will crush them, because the moment they offer me to betray my friends, my family… they are my enemy. And I refer to die, then betray them. So, don't worry, until I draw my last breath, I won't betray you."
Maybe, Zack understood it was her with the bounty. Or maybe it was to make sure, this woman in his arms wouldn't feel too insecure with him.
But the moment Zack said those words and looked down at the stunned Vottes and show his gentle smile. Was the moment, Vottes's heart was stolen by him.
Vottes cheeks went red, and even looked away, not understanding this strange feeling in her heart is. Or the fact why is her heart crazily beating is not stopping!?
Of course, seeing these actions of hers. Zack just tilted his head in confusion, not understand what she is doing.
And the forgotten Nightfall?
{As expected from my new Master! Oh, so she fallen this one, and not to mention… I still a nice view, don't you agree Master?}
Nightfall, this perverted sword commented. No matter if it is breaking itself, lolicons, or even women bodies in general. In the end, a perverted sword, is still a perverted sword, no matter the situation, or how wise it may be at times.
'Huh…? Fallen?? I haven't dropped her, right? And nice view…? What nice view? I can barely see anything in this cave…'
Of course, Zack still being the same as always, had no clue what this perverted sword is on about.

Sorry, I been hit with Summer Flu, or that what others call it that given me it! My family really is a fair and sharing family…
Anyway, sorry the delay, I would like to post this chapter yesterday. But I don't know if it because I hasn't been on this laptop of mine for over 2 weeks, or because it hates me. But the moment I tried to access internet, is the moment it all clashed.
Enough with my excuses. I hope you all enjoy this chapter, like the others.
And another thing I notice, because I been away from any work on this fanfic of mine. I went to re-read the chapters I already uploaded… and I notice a lot of grammar mistakes than I thought I made. Sorry about that, I will try to fix them as soon when I find time.
There is no new chapter tomorrow. But there should be one chapter on Friday. But next week should be back to normal with 3 chapters a week. (Mon, Wed, and Fri)
As for those that also follow my other fanfic, the DxD one. I haven't decided when, but I will be starting to re-proofread the chapters of that second fanfic of mine. Try to do it before Xmas, but if not, should be around that time.
I do want to go back to that fanfic. As for this fanfic? Don't know, but I do feel the desire to write some more. But I will see if that desire still burns when caught up proofreading the other chapters. (60+ chapters in total of this fanfic… and we only just over halfway…)
Once again, thanks for reading this fanfic of mine. And sorry I hasn't been able to post anything the last few weeks.
