Bab 37: Military Reform

The room was large and very brightly lit. The walls were painted a light blue, and the floor was covered in a dark blue carpet. There were several rows of chairs, and a large table in the center of the room.

Today a meeting to reform Jola's Government system will take place.

Everyone was reviewing the documents given to them and asking questions on how this government will work after implantation. Even Lily and Lain were participating in today's meeting while Lily was shocked at how much power Eugene was giving away, Lain was just smiling reading the documents.

After a long debate the meeting was concluded with the finalizing of the documents. Lain and Eugene signed them as the royals of Jola while Lily signed it as a witness because she is an imperial family member of an allied empire.

They concluded the meeting with deciding on how many Councils should be there and how who will be placed in charge of which council as the first lenders they can be "appointed by the King"

The government was made up of 7 Councils as of now which can increase in future, they were

1.Council of Administration and Education: Council Head Sarah Bob, The council calculates all kinds of data necessary for governing the kingdom while also sending and receiving data to respective councils for help in management. They are also responsible for the education of the citizens.

2.Council of Food Production and Health Safety: Council Head Richard, responsible for ensuring that food production and distribution in the Jola is safe and healthy. The Council works with the food industry, government, and consumers to develop and implement food safety and health standards. The Council also conducts research on food safety and health issues, and disseminates information on food safety and health to the public.

3.Council of Construction and Development: Council Head Neil, regulates the construction industry in the Jola. It sets standards for construction projects and oversees the construction process to ensure that these standards are met.

4.Council of National Protection: Council Head Hughes, intergovernmental body that coordinates military responses to international and national crises. Controls the police and military alike.

5.Council of Fabric and Fashion: Council Head Jessica, is a governing body that sets standards and regulations for the textile and fashion industries.

6.Council of Transportation: Council Head is not decided yet, is responsible for the safety of the public when using the transportation system. They work to improve the transportation system and make sure that it is safe for everyone.

7.Council of Human Rights: Council Head is not decided yet,The Council works to prevent human rights abuses and to ensure that all people have the opportunity to enjoy their human rights

I also wanted to add council of Financing but we still don't have a bank or printed money so for now administration council will handle trade and money.

Also Yes, I decided I wanted to implement human rights into our government. Right now this world is just a bloodbath whenever whoever kills people however they like even though rules are placed against these kinds of acts they are really vague and backwards no surprise.

When I brought up human rights, everyone was totally dumbfounded by this philosophy as if it was so other worldly thing but they accepted it all the same.

All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.

Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of a person.

No one shall be held in slavery or servitude; slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms.

No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.

Everyone has the right to recognition everywhere as a person before the law.

Everyone is entitled to equal protection of the law without discrimination on any grounds such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.

Everyone has the right to an effective remedy by the competent national tribunals for acts violating the fundamental rights granted him/her by the constitution or by law.

No one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention or exile.

Everyone has the right to a nationality.

Everyone has the right to marry and to found a family. All forms of forced marriage and child marriage shall be prohibited.

Everyone has the right to own property alone as well as in association with others.

No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his property.

Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.

Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.

Everyone has the right to freedom of peaceful assembly and association.

Everyone has the right to take part in the government of the country, directly or through freely chosen representatives.

Everyone has the right of equal access to public service in his country.

The will of the people shall be the basis of the authority of government; this will be expressed in periodic and genuine elections which shall be by universal and equal suffrage and shall be held by secret vote or by equivalent free voting procedures.

Everyone has the right to a social and international order in which the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration can be fully realized.

I scraped these human rights from database of different countries back on earth. It was tremendous work but I somehow pieced it together.

Next I asked Hughes and some administrative staff to stay behind to reform the military and tell him next plans.

Eugene: Hughes, I want to start a military Reform. I think it's time for change.

Hughes: What kind of change are you thinking of, Your Majesty?

Eugene: I want to update our tactics and strategies. I want to modernize our army.

Hughes: That sounds like a good idea. How can I help?

Eugene: I need you to help me draft a proposal for the Reform. I want to make sure that it is well thought out and will be effective.

Hughes: Of course, Your Majesty. I'll get right on it.

As such he took out a quil and started to write my explanation of modern military systems.

Military Management:

The management of the military is responsible for the organization and supervision of the armed forces. This includes the management of resources, personnel, and finances. The military management is also responsible for the planning and execution of military operations.

Division of the Military:

The military is divided into several branches, each with its own area of responsibility. The most common divisions are the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps.

Taxes:

The military is subject to the same taxes as the general population. However, there are some additional taxes that members of the military may be required to pay. These include federal and state income taxes, as well as property taxes.

Salary and Pension:

Members of the military are paid a salary based on their rank and years of service. In addition, they may also receive benefits such as housing and medical care. After retirement, members of the military are eligible for a pension. Every personnel who lost there life during duty and personnel serving the country for at least 16 years are eligible for pension.

These are the few points I explained to him in detail for which he and all the others were again dumbfounded. Pension and salary were totally weird concepts for the military in this world. Most kingdoms give their knights a small land to earn tax from or housing and status but with this even normal people can join the military which we have been already doing but if they get steady income more people will be keen to join.

Not only will they get a good income but they will get it even after retirement or if they die in line of duty their family will be given the pension.

In a small bar in downtown where peasants live, two ladies were talking about something seriously, one whom anyone can recognize as the princess Luna of Atlanta but the other was a hooded red haired woman.

The woman with red hair stared at the princess coldly, her gray eyes narrowed in suspicion. "What do you know about the prophecy?" she demanded.

The princess swallowed, taken aback by the other woman's abruptness. "N-nothing," she stammered. "I-I just heard some of the courtiers talking, that's all."

"And what did they say?" The red-haired woman stepped closer, her voice low and dangerous.

"T-that there's going to be a great upheaval, a-and that someone is going to be born who will change everything." The princess licked her lips nervously, her heart pounding in her chest.

The other woman stared at her for a long moment before turning away with a dismissive snort. "Fools," she muttered under her breath.

The princess watched her go, feeling a sense of foreboding settle over her. Something was coming, she could feel it in the air. And she had a feeling that it wasn't going to be anything good.

Who was the woman she talked to? Nobody knows but if someone saw her they can easily tell that it was a Ewan just by looking at her distinctive hair.

Princess Luna was terrified after meeting the red haired woman. She was shaking and sweating, and she felt like she was going to vomit. She was sure that the woman was going to kill her, and she was petrified.

This was a really weird situation, anyone who knew Luna would know that she was a noble warrior who fought alongside her father and many great commanders but right now she was shaking with fear.
