You walked around the dancing dog that you had adopted, he was a German Shepherd who was called A.X.L. You walked through your brother's lounge to his kitchen, you were staying with him while your place was being as your brother put it 'debugged'. Well you were there, he was in DC for work. You worked for NCIS as an analyst and found the wording your brother used for your place being exterminated as funny. Being Christopher LaSalle's little sister meant that you had the team willing to protect you should you need it. You did work as their analyst so that was another reason they were over protective. These reasons meant that should anyone hurt you there would be no limits to how far they would go to get this person. Evidently your ex had never gotten that memo. There was a knock on the door and you expecting your brother as he was due home tonight, opened it laughing, "What did you do bro? Forget your keys?" You gasped as he shoved you inside roughly, you stumbled, but managed to get a kick in a sensitive area so, he braced himself on the doorframe. He aimed something at you and there was the sound of a shot. You felt the pain after a few seconds of the shot occurring, you shrieked in pain falling back on the ground. A.X.L growled and jumped up biting your attacker, who yelped and scrambled out of the door, rushing back to his car.
A.X.L circled back to you as you whimpered in pain. He nudged you with his nose, he then wandered back to the lounge and picked up your cell phone. "Good boy." You tried to stay conscious long enough to call your brother or Pride. You pressed a number on your phone hearing the phone begin to ring. You passed out before you could talk to the person who picked up. "Y/N?" Pride's voice rang through the hallway. "Y/N?" He asked again, A.X.L barked several times and curled next you, keeping guard.
Pride lowered his gun as he saw you lying in a pool of blood in Chris' hallway, A.X.L curled beside you and your cell phone sticky with your blood. Your brother was on his way back from his assignment in DC, so he wasn't with you or Pride. A.X.L greeted the agent but didn't move from beside you. Pride called for an ambulance, telling you to hang on. You arrived at the hospital with your blood clinging to Pride's hands.
A few hours later Tammy, Sonja, Loretta, Patten and Sebastian were in the waiting room, when your surgery had finished. "Someone has to tell Chris what's happened." Sonja muttered. "I'll tell him." Loretta volunteered, "No, I will, LaSalle should hear it from me." Before he could call, a doctor appeared. "Loretta." Pride gave the ME permission to make the call. "Agent Pride. She's asking for you."
Pride entered your room, heart clenching at how small you looked. "Hey, sweetheart, how are you?"
"Sore." You gave a small smile. "I'll bet, you got shot." He chuckled slightly, relieved you had made it. "Has someone called Chris?"
"Loretta is now. Would you like to talk to him?"
"He can't know who shot me." Your hands twisted the sheets, and Pride's eyebrows furrowed. "Why?" You scrambled for words, "Because he can't know." It clicked for Pride. "The ex-boyfriend shot you." You nodded, "What to see the rest of the team?" You nodded. The team gathered around you for a while, Pride had left taking Sonja with him. When they returned both had smugness about them and Sonja had bruises along her knuckles. An hour later, Chris entered the room with Loretta who had gone to pick him up, he had an annoyed look on his face. "I'm going to get a coffee, anyone else?" Tammy said picking up on the vibe, the rest of the team followed her. Pride whispered something to Chris before leaving as well. "Why didn't you tell me he shot you?"
"I didn't want you to freak out, like you're doing now." He took a deep breath, "I'm not freaking out, Sugar-bell."
"Besides I told Pride." He raised an eyebrow at you. "Oops. Would you feel better if I told you Sonja punched him?" He grinned, moving towards the bed he hugged you gently wary of your wound. "I feel better knowing that you are okay. Just don't do that again, please."
"What get shot? Yes, chief."
