"What do you mean 'stay'?" asked Ruby, hoping it was a good sign.

Matius said, "Well, because the body is too perfect, their souls end up merging into one. They're not like me and Matthew who split into two souls in one body, but rather their souls become one soul in one body."

Ruby rounded her eyes. "Does that mean my son isn't dead?"

"No." Matius clapped his hands and spoke next to Orion's ear. "Congratulations, little boy! You're not a thief!"

Ruby's head spun around as she heard the explanation. Their souls became one, so no one was dead!

Maybe because Orion's soul was older than Asterion's, he became the one in charge of their bodies. However, Asterion's traits would always be buried in his heart, becoming the roots that would always guide him.
