An unknown amount of time had passed when Rune's eyes began to open. He found himself staring up at an unfamiliar ceiling, and when he finally came to his senses after shaking off the lingering feelings of drowsiness, he frowned bitterly.
"This again..." He said, sitting up in his bed.
How many times had he ended up in a state like now? It was enough to hurt his confidence. After all, each time he woke up in this manner was a clear indicator that he had lost an important battle.
"Ah! Whatever!"
Rune grumbled as he fell back against the bed. Reaching his arm up, he opened and closed his fist, trying to grasp at the intangible.
"I can still feel my connection with Luna, but... what about the others? What was it that attacked us at the end? That darkness..."
Happy Tuesday everyone. Things have been pretty serious with a lot of battles the last few chapters so I wanted switch the tone to something lighter. Not much happened but I think it did a good job of changing the mood. By the way, what did you guys think about the reveal of the mysterious figure who has been following the group? If you had guessed that it was Miriam, the arachne princess, then you were correct. It was quite tough doing the reveal through the view of other characters because it mean't that I could not mention her by name.
