Turning back to look at her, Rune frowned as he met Fleur's gaze. "What do you mean?"

"You are making a decision about your relationship without even considering Claudia's feelings. Claudia is a smart girl, and even putting that aside, it doesn't take a genius to see that you slinging around barrier magic is not normal," Fleur said. "I'm sure she has figured out by now that things won't always be safe around you."

Rune averted his gaze but was otherwise silent.

"If it is danger you are worried about, then protect her. Isn't that what you already resolved to do, what we all resolved to do for the people we care about?"
