Zictor began moving as soon as the match began. For whatever reason, he opted not to go with his best move from the get-go like he did with Maria.
All the better for me... Not that it would have mattered in the first place...
Blitzing your enemy at the start and catching them off-guard was all well and good, but Rune had an idea of his own. It was a spur-of-the-moment idea but one he was sure would work well. It wouldn't completely neutralize the effects of sonic attacks, but it should prevent him from getting paralyzed.
As Zictor made a rapid approach, Rune did the unexpected. He threw his sword away, tossing it high into the air above him. Then, Rune raised his arms and jabbed his thumbs into his eardrums. Blood trickled from his ears, but with his hearing impaired, it would be much more difficult for the sound waves to ravage his body.
It is kind of funny when you thing about the fact that Rune is fighting an opponent that uses music to attack while not being able to hear thing. I wanted to portray the true strength of sound magic even if only a little bit. When you think about it, a single soldier being able to summon an entire army is extremly powerful. It makes sense that the dragons decided to remove them before they became an obstacle.
