Calian never expected that he would be unable to use one of his abilities, and so he had no chance to change his approach and escape using [Body Activation]. Rune's sword was already mid-swing, and any time Calian would have had to dodge was now used up. The barrier-enhanced sword continued its path downward and severed his arm at the shoulder.

The black leathery arm fell to the ground with a wet thud, and Calian clutched his stump in pain. He watched as it slowly shriveled up and disintegrated into a black mist.

"ARGH!! Damn you! You inferiors! I was chosen. ME! And now my arm is gone. F*ck." Seeing the gift from his benefactor disappear made Calian finally lose his cool. He grabbed his sword and rushed forward, but Carin met him halfway.
