Bab 89: Trial of the Heart 2

"Finally remember me, huh? I suppose someone as oblivious as you wouldn't even think to question why things always turn out the way they do for you." Dorian scoffed and looked at Fleur with disdain. He clearly resented the way his life ended.

He walked up to Fleur and put a hand on her cheek while using his thumb to gently trace her lips. In response, Fleur stiffened up. The sudden action brought up feelings of past trauma, and she couldn't bring herself to move.

"I can't deny it, though. You truly are strikingly beautiful. If things had turned out differently, I might have fallen for you for real."

His words brought Fleur back to attention. She was tired. Her mind and body felt weary, but she mustered up the strength to slap Dorian's hand away and shoot him a fierce glare.

"Shut up! I'm not weak like I was back then, and I won't sit here and let you toy with me."
