The spiritual fire gathered and submerged into the remnants of flesh.

The fire-contaminated remains shakily rose, then began to crawl faster and faster until it swiftly disappeared at the end of the street.

This mass of flesh, no longer capable of thought, embarked on the road home—whether it could truly return to some "original body," or if it would exhaust its life force and dissipate along the way, or perhaps be intercepted and purified by something, even Duncan wasn't certain.

After Sherry began to fight that strange, shadowy figure, he quickly analyzed this "assailant" that appeared in the nightmare, guessing its abilities, and after seeing its reaction to the spiritual fire, he further concluded that this mysterious attacker was likely a fragmented "Pathfinder."
