The spiritual body's ghostly green fire flickered like a floating shadow, sweeping across the entire factory in a matter of seconds. This disturbance, stemming from a higher transcendent power, was like a gust of wind that lifted the veil covering "reality," revealing the truth beneath to Sherry and Duncan's eyes.

Ashes were everywhere—human-shaped ashes, misshapen ashes, scorched walls, melted rooftops. The machines' casings, warped and brittle from the fire's licking flames, melded with barely discernible heaps of molten matter. The whole factory area seemed like a fiery inferno that had only recently cooled down. The fire had been extinguished, but the devastating power that melted everything seemed to still linger in the air.

Sherry stood in the center of this field of fire remnants, her gaze somewhat vacant, while the dog moved silently beside the girl, gently supporting her body with its gaunt skeletal back.
