Bab 3: Chapter 3: The System

From what I was able to learn from using the system for an hour, it was very similar to the system that I had read about in many fanfics and novels.
To be honest, the system was very basic. With a Status tab, a Skill tab, a Quest tab and well uhh... that was it.
There was no Inventory, Help, Settings, World Travel, Gacha, Relationship or anything really.
The loss of Inventory was the biggest loss in my opinion.
But... I was fine... Heck! I was even a little happy with what I had gotten.
After all if this hadn't come, then I would've been shackled to a life to being powerless in a world where everyone had superpowers.
Now while I wanted to live a life of peace, I didn't want to be bullied by people tenth of my age (and even if they had tried to, I would've still shown those brats who was the Boss!).
But my biggest worry with this system was that I would become a slave to it.
Like how it would force me to take missions and how I would HAVE to take them if I wanted to avoid the consequences of it's failure.
Fortunately, those worries were laid to rest as I could choose to accept or deny a Quest.
By the way, the Quests were randomly generated by the System. I checked this by setting a goal for myself (brushing my teeth) and then a screen had popped up in front of me.

Naturally, I had chosen to [Accept] the Quest.
Once I was done, I had checked my breath and it felt strangely pleasant than what it normally smelled like after brushing.
The Levelling system was the same too, I had unlimited potential of a Gamer available to me.
-But it was currently inactive because I hadn't chosen a [Class] yet.
I also didn't have many [Skills] as the program only recorded gamer-like skills.
So my Buisness Mastery or my Hero Knowledge weren't up there, but my Marksmanship was.

Hand-To-Hand Combat: Rank: E- (Your knowledge of fighting in a Hand To Hand combat is excellent. But your body is weaker than a squirrel.)
Marksmanship: Rank: B (You are a master at operating and using ranged weapons. Almost all of your bullets hit target.)
Intimidating Presence: Rank: E- (Because of you being the leader of a great criminal organization, you give off a very intimidating and dominating presence. But since you are now stuck in a cute 4 year old this skill is almost useless)
Charisma: Rank C (You have a charismatic aura that automatically makes people listen to you. You also have very cute face that attracts people to you.)]

You would think that the list would be longer after my long life.
It was almost insultingly low.
There also wasn't any kind of Gamer's Mind or Gamer's Body as many novels portrayed there to be.
'Sigh... But you gotta make do with what you have.' I thought while shaking my head.
What was I doing?! Pointing out the useless flaws of the system. It wasn't like they would magically come back!
Right?
...
I let out a sigh as I saw nothing happened.
I thought if I jinxed it, it really would come back! Isn't that what happens in most novels?
Guess my life isn't one then.
That's a relief.
I quickly opened the [Status] screen, as I wanted to select my [Class] so I could quickly start leveling up.

I quickly selected the [Class] tab and a new screen opened.
[Which Class would you like to choose?]
[Warrior] [Mage] [Rogue] [Blacksmith] [Random]
All the classes were also reminiscent of the classic jobs of an fantasy RPG.
I had to think carefully about this, because I was only able to choose one and then I would have to grind it to atleast level 50 before I was allowed to select another.
I wanted to choose something that suited me for my first [Class], so [Blacksmith] and [Rogue] were out right out of the bag.
[Random] was out too as I didn't want to bet my future on dumb luck (even if the luck stat was currently my highest).
So that left, [Warrior] and [Mage]. While [Warrior] suited me much better, I didn't think it would help me much when I was so young.
And [Mage] would grant me the ability to use Magic! How great was that!
Magic characters are almost always the most strongest and useful in almost every party.
So without any dilly-dallying, I stuck out my finger to select the [Mage] option...
When suddenly, as if an act of God, an earthquake suddenly hit and managed to throw me off balance.
"Ah!" I yelled as I fell on the floor with a few books that were nearby.
"Ouch!" I said as I rubbed my head.
I knew that there were many Earthquakes in Japan, but I didn't expect then to be so sudden!
But I better get used to it I guess.
Shaking my head, I glanced back up at the floating tab just to hit my jaw on the floor.
"What the fuc-!" I screamed out in horror.
Rather than selecting the [Mage] option, I had accidentally selected the [Random] option!
'All because of that godforsaken earthquake.' I gritted my teeth.
I couldn't even cancel it as it had already started randomising [Classes].
Deep breaths... Take deep breaths Izuku...
'Sigh...' I thought as I calmed down. 'I can't do anything but leave it up to fate at this point.'
...
The process took ten minutes. It constantly rolled through multiple options like a roulette wheel. Jumping from one to the other.
I held my breath as I looked at the slowly stopping wheel...
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, it stopped on-!

Guess what his class is going to be? I'm sure the clue in the title would be enough for many people.
The next chapter will come next week as I have depleted all of my stocked chapters.
