I eyed the sheriff as he lowered his gun and stepped closer to me.
"What's your name?" He asked me.
"Amara... Aldrich." I said and watched him pick up my backpack.
"Do you have any identification on you Miss Aldrich?" He asked.
I thought for a moment and sighed, Roxy had gotten me an ID when we went out on our shopping trip and It was back home on my dresser in my wallet which I also stupidly did not bring.
"No." I said. "I left it home."
The sheriff eyed me skeptically.
"What brings you out here so early?"
"I've been out here all night actually.." I replied and the look on his face told me that was a stupid thing to say.
"Do I get your name?" I asked. "And can I have my backpack back?"
"You seem a little nervous Amara." The Sheriff replied. "What's in here?" He asked holding up my backpack.

It hasn't done as well as I would have hoped since signing this contract and I would rather spend my time and energy on my other books away from this platform that DO have potential.
I realize I likely do not have the rights to Amara or her story anymore so I'm just going to let her story die here.
Apologies to anyone who was actually reading. I don't think there were many of you. I don't know how this platform works as far as contracted stories that the author gives up on, maybe someone will finish it, but it won't be me.
