I finished eating my food before washing my hands and getting ready to go to bed. I looked at the necklace curiously for a while before returning it to my pocket for safekeeping. Can it really summon a god? I want to try it, but I can't because I don't even know which one to commune with, not to mention what to talk about.
I probably should have followed Durvasa back to civilization. Why was he out in the woods in the first place, wasn't he supposed to be a royal guest or something? Maybe he got lost, but I doubt that as he is the embodiment of shiva's anger. (A/n Kind of) I wonder where he went, and if I would ever see him again. He ate my food, gave me a god summoning necklace and just up and left. Seems like chad[1] material if you ask me.
I am sad the swan left because now my only friend is the angry tiger. I wonder if the swan will ever come back? Or if I would have to look for it myself. I drank some water before gathering all of the tools and things I had made and storing them in my cabin. It was time to go to sleep and worry about the events of today, tomorrow. Wait a minute, am I at the time of the Mahabharata? Does that mean I have to interfere with the Kurukshetra war? I hope not, I don't want to get skewered by a spear or shot with an arrow. Putting those worrying thoughts aside, despite my instinct not to, I went to sleep hoping I wouldn't have to come anywhere near the succession crisis in Hastinapura.
....(The next morning)....
I woke up to the sound of birds chirping reminding me of my lost swan friend. I got up went outside and started my day. I didn't really need to do anything today, so I am going to just relax and maybe try and remember the gods from indian mythology. I sat down inside my cabin and started trying to remember the different gods from indian mythology. I knew shiva, brahma, vishnu, pavarti, sura, indra, and yama. Each of them were powerful in some way, but shiva, brahma, and vishnu, from what I could remember were the strongest. Shiva was the god of destruction, Brahma was the god of creation, and vishnu is the god of preservation. They were the "trimurti" the supreme divinities of indian mythology. I wonder what it would be like to talk to one of them. Would they smite me for not being from this time? Or would they help me get back to where I am originally from? I don't know, but I hoped they would try and get me home, if the necklace worked in the first place. I wonder what it would take to convince one of them to help me. For now, I should find a way out of this forest to a village or city nearby. I stood up to get ready for the long challenge ahead of me. With the threat of the whole succession crisis war, I needed to find a way home quick and to do that I needed to use this necklace. I looked at the necklace for a few seconds before wearing it. It was time to commune with a god!
.........................Chapter end....................
Super short but I am busy today, So i'll give you a few things I thought were interesting.
Age of Gods
The time period beginning with the genesis of the Earth 4.5 Billion years ago until the beginning of the Common Era around 1 AD is referred to as the Age of Gods during which the world followed laws based not on physics but on Mystery.
The Dinosaurs lived on Earth for millions of years until their age came to an end 65 million years ago, putting an end to the Cretaceous period. The great extinction was caused by the impact of an asteroid in the Yucatán Peninsula WP. Right before the asteroid hit, the atmosphere was characterized for its incredible Ether, which was much denser than the Isle of Britain. The density of Magical Energy was on par with a Reality Marble. The region of Mesoamerica is known for having a very different mythology compared to the gods of Uruk. Their gods are not from the planet Earth. They are said to have come from the sky. When the asteroid collided with Earth, "something" that came with it survived and infected the plants. Eventually, it became a microscopic organism that changed the local animals into "gods," and built that area's civilizations. The deities of Mesoamerica move from one Human to another. This ability would later allow them to come back to life in the A.D. era.
The Age of Gods period is marked by a greater proliferation of Phantasmal Species and greater interaction between gods and mortals. This is the age of heroes and mythology, when rules of mankind and the laws of the world were different right down to the very fundamental physics of reality itself, but this period ended many years ago. Even Magecraft itself is described as being closer to Magic in this era and Medea's abilities reinforce this concept. The currently-revealed Second Age of Gods eventually transitioned into the Age of Man due to three major events.
Deterioration
Originally, gods existed in physical form as manifestations of nature itself, and ruled the Earth and its civilizations. The Deterioration began with the invasion of Sefar in 12,000 BC. Sefar successfully burned to ash 80% of the planet's surface, not only killing most of the plants, animals or Humans, but even the gods themselves. The most notable including Amaterasu, and the Twelve Machine Gods. It wasn't until the six Great fairies forged the Holy Sword forged in the core of the planet, that Sefar was finally beaten back. Although the gods did survive, due to the damage done by Sefar, their influence and power declined whereas those of humanity grew. The gods slowly began to lose their physical forms and eventually could only walk on the Earth by possessing compatible humans.
The Authority Potnia Theron embodying the power of all creation originated from a forgotten goddess approximately around 6,000 BC (the Goddess of Çatalhöyük). It was inherited by the Earth Mother Goddesses; Tiamat, Cybele, Ishtar, Inanna, Anat, Ashtart, Gaia, Hera, Artemis, Aphrodite, Demeter, Athena, etc.
In 4,000 BC, the Twelve Olympians created Pandora.
Separation
Realizing that if the weakening of the gods were to continue, the Age of Gods itself would end, the gods of Mesopotamia created Gilgamesh around 2,600 BC as the keystone to connect the gods and humans. However, Gilgamesh unexpectedly rebelled against the gods and encouraged the complete separation of the gods and the humans. Due to this, the decline of the gods was accelerated and the gods lost their powers and became Divine Spirits, forced to exist likely in the Reverse Side of the World, only able to observe the Earth without directly interfering. Backfired due to Gilgamesh thinking he was above everything due to being a demi god.
In 1,000 BC, the Norse Pantheon came to an end during Ragnarök. Later, around 931 BC, the demise of Solomon, the King of Magic, accelerated the decline of Mystery.
Trigger
In 700 BC, there was a certain Trigger that caused the end of the Age of Gods and the beginning of the next age. Further details are unknown.
Karna and Arjuna's story is set somewhere around 5000 B.C. The text itself, however, was completed sometime between the 4th century B.C. and the 4th century A.D.
Age of Man
The specific period of Celt and Ulster legends are presumed to be from 100 BC to 100 AD. By 60 AD, the hero Cú Chulainn had already died decades ago.
Around 0 AD, the Age of Gods ended entirely and the population of humanity grew explosively. Because the Earth obeys the law of the most prosperous species on its surface, the rules of the world were completely changed from one that mostly obeyed Mystery to one that mostly obeyed physics. The Phantasmal Species ceded the Earth's surface to humans and moved to the Reverse Side of the World, where Mystery still thrives.
The current age is identified as the Age of Man , where Mysteries such as magecraft are dwindling in favor of science. The Five Magics were born in this age.
You don't have to read this, but it gives a good description of the age of the gods in fate. (It's pretty much just word by word from the wiki)
Parivrajaka mean wanderer if you didn't know. Also isn't it ironic that the age of the gods ended around when the son of god appeared? just a thought. Other than that, I will probably post an auxiliary chapter and a omake at some point today due to the lack of story that came out today. Sorry, expect a large chapter tomorrow though.
