Bab 72: The Ceremony

My eyes went to Silas as he climbed the stairs. His brown eyes were the same color of the soil hiding beneath all the snow. They promised life and safety just as the earth did for the plants. His face was neutral, no movement or signs of a smile, but those eyes held his chaos. I could feel the energy radiating through him, the anticipation for this moment. I gave him a small smile before turning to see the other side.

Sinlan locked eyes with me instantly. His piercing green eyes matched the vibrancy of the tree leaves. They were calling for me, begging for me to get lost in their depths like the forest itself. He had a neutral face as well, but his eyes were focused. He was watching me as if it was only me and him in this clearing. As I gave him a small smile he nodded once to me.
