Bab 257: Excursion

It had been some time since my minions left and I was waiting with bated breath for any news from them. Despite my fears, I had sent them out on a mission to gauge the strength of our enemy and see what kind of damage they could inflict. I was certain that they wouldn't win the battle, but I was curious nonetheless. The intelligence variant had assured me that there was enough time before the enemy arrived, so I clung to the hope that I might find some useful information that could help me tackle them in the future.

I decided to retreat to my house within the castle, surrounded by high stone walls and fortified towers. The enemy settlement was located a mere four hours away, but I couldn't fathom why they weren't coming straight for me. I pondered the possibility that they already knew my location through the information system, a powerful resource that could provide all sorts of information for a small price.
