"He couldn't make it, Aunt, he just got a very huge business project and he is working on it", Taylor tried to cover up for his father.
"Congrats on that, but it still doesn't change how I feel concerning his absence, you are not here to represent him, if he thinks so, you are also a member and you are representing yourself and nobody else, where are my manners by the way, all discussion continues after the meal", Aunt Maggie replied.
"Aunt, I got a dress well designed for you, you are gonna love it, my personal assistance will have it sent over here, in no time", Diane said out of nowhere.
"Thanks darling, you always make me feel happy, most time, I wish you were really my daughter, I can't wait to have it neither can I wait to put it on".
Aunt Maggie couldn't hide the joy she felt hearing that, she didn't care if part of what she said was hurting anyone, she had even forgotten that she had made mentioned that all discussion continuing after the meal. "I am truly your daughter", Diane replied and continued eating.
Anna felt displeased by her mother's words but kept her face free from any reaction.
Damien had gotten changed when he heard the knock on his door. He got the door.
"Good morning, Monsieur Damien, Food is ready and Madame want you to have your meal downstairs with the family", Bènèdicte spoke respectfully and formally.
"I'll be there", he replied briskly and closed the door.
He called out to Julie, but she gave no response, so he went around the room till he met her coming out of the gallery. Her left hand was bleeding, she immediately pulled it away so he wouldn't notice. But it was too late, he had already noticed, he pulled her hand forward for him to see it properly. she was bleeding profusely.
"How did you get yourself injured?, I warned you earlier, now how did this happen?", he asked furiously.
Julie gave no answer and just stood there like an innocent puppy.
He took her to the bathroom and helped her rinse off the blood, he took out a napkin and used it to wipe off the cut which was now bleeding steadily. He pulled out a first aid box from the drawer and he began to apply it on her hand gently.
"You want them to think I'm abusive or that we got into a fight, how would you even get your hand injured like this?", he scolded her while helping her to bandage it. Julie didn't even wince while he had applied the antiseptic.
Her mind was fixed on how she would repair what she had broken a painting frame. She had managed to hide the broken image before he came, but she knew she couldn't hide it forever.

"They'll be here shortly, Madame", Bènèdicte said to Aunt Maggie. "That's good", she replied. "Aunt, do you mind if i take you out for shopping, this afternoon?".
"No, I don't mind, I'll be happy to go out, I'm not getting any younger and I'll need this break", Aunt Maggie replied.
She noticed Damien approaching. "Damien, why did it take you so long?". "Good morning, Aunt", he said while drawing the chair for Julie to sit.
"Good morning, Aunt", Julie also greeted.
"Good morning", she replied while noticing Julie's well dressed injury.
"Hope all is well, dear?", she tried to sound sweet. "Yes, all is well, Aunt", Julie replied with a smile. "She had gotten injured, so I had to dress the wound, that was what took us long", Damien was already seated and he just picked the cutlery while he said that.
"That's serious, but there isn't so many harmful devices that could hurt anyone, it's good you're better now", Aunt Maggie spoke like she cared and continued eating.
"Sorry about that, some of us here had thought that it would have been as a result of Damien teaching you Kung Fu", Taylor razzed and Diane chuckled.
"Table manners are required", Aunt Maggie requested while Diane was still laughing quietly.
Diane's aim was to make Julie feel annoyed but the tables turned. In no time, She got choked and forcefully took a glass of water which she immediately gulped. Julie was about laughing but she had no choice but to swallow it, in order to avoid the same result happening to her and to keep her cool, but Taylor laughed aloud.
"Take it easy on yourself, Diane, this is why I always say good table manners in the dinning", Aunt Maggie scolded. Diane felt embarrassed, so she just wiped her lips with a napkin on the table and glared at Taylor. She also glared at Julie because she was so sure Julie was laughing at her and trying to mask it all.
