Bab 28: ~Family~
The next day Yu Chani came again and this time not alone, Huno was notified and he came out.
'Sister Yu, welcome,' Huno said as he entered the main hall. 'Brother Huno, thank you, please I would like you to meet my patriarch,' Yu Chani said.
'I have seen the patriarch,' Huno said and cupped his fist.
'I have seen the good sir,' the patriarch replied.
'Please sit,' Huno said and stretched his hands. The patriarch nodded and took a sit.
Huno took the head sit and said, 'forgive me for not paying a visit, I enjoy keeping business at the business level so as not to affect both sides' personal interest,'.
'I understand,' the patriarch replied.
'Please, to what do I owe this honored visit?' Huno asked.
'I'll go straight to the point. I'm here to have a negotiation with you, for the sake of my family,' the patriarch replied.
'Okay, please continue,' Huno said.
'Yesterday the array masters said the higher or more the set the higher the realm it can block and the more area it can cover, they also said after the array is set an additional set can be added anything more will destroy it,' the patriarch said and paused.
'Okay, why come because of this?'
'From the little I learnt about you from our transaction, I can guess you knowing about this you would like to put in an additional set later on,' the patriarch said.
'Haha, of course, what does this have to do with the negotiation you have?' Huno asked.
'When the third set is placed, the range it covers is almost as big as this place, about eighty percent of it...'
'Forgive me for being rude. If you want me to do it here, please forget about it,' Huno said, cutting him short and standing up.
'Brother please wait and listen, you don't have to agree but please just listen I beg thee,' Yu Chani cried.
Huno frowned but replied, 'Very well continue,'. He sat down, placed his elbow on the arm and place his arm on his knuckles.
'While the second set can cover about fifty percent of this place, the patriarch continued. 'I have a place that is almost the same in size as this place and I would like to exchange it with you for the place you bought,'.
Huno's right eyebrow twitched, 'who does that? Tell what's the catch?' he asked.
'The catch, when my family is facing the fate of extinction, please allow them to rush to you for protection. I am even willing to return fifteen percent of our agreement,' the patriarch replied.
'And why will you do that? That's an enormous sum of money,'.
'I will protect my family, even if I am powerless to protect all I will protect as much as I can, what is money compared to family, with my family we can always make a living even though it will be hard at first,' the patriarch replied.
'And what prompted you to make this decision?' Huno asked.
'One is the great families and two, there was news from the battlefield. The front line was breached. If nothing is done within a year to stabilize the situation, the entire front line may be lost,' the patriarch said. 'So when the array master heard the news they advised I do the array on a larger area and requested protection, they promised to try their best to make it stable and more efficient, they also agreed to do last set for free when we were ready, they just request protection, two also requested for their families,' the patriarch explained.
'I see. I will have to call my family and talk about it first. If they agree I have no problem, please excuse me,' Huno said and stood up. He walked out the door and saw Shin standing there. 'Call everyone upstairs to my room, there is something important to talk about,' Huno said and went up the stairs, not waiting for a reply.
'Yes sir,' Shin's voice sounded and went instantly.
Huno entered his room and sat down on the bed. He thought, 'if the front line is completely breached, what will happen? I really need to get stronger,'.
One after another, everyone entered the room. Lee Wei and Xue Li sat on the two chairs in the room, Luna and Ma Lie join Huno on the bed while the other four stood.
'There's something important, I need each and everyone's opinion on this, (he turned to the four) including yours, though your say in this is small, I will still respect it,' Huno said.
'The situation goes like this......'

'So that's it, brother, what's your say?' Huno asked Lee Wei.
'Well, I think we should accept, though the formation is powerful it's still has its limit and so does the Qi stones, it is not bad to have man power who will fight and defend the array when it is weak, the nine of us alone can not do it,' Lee Wei replied.
'Understood, junior sister,' Huno said.
'I have a suggestion. I don't know if senior brother and big brother will agree, you both may not like it,' Xue Li said.
'Go on, junior sister,' Huno said.
'Alright, why don't you do a head and tail blood ritual?' Xue Li asked.
Lee Wei and Ma Lie eyes widened. Two of the four coughed while the other gasps for air. 'What's that?' Huno asked.
'It's a ritual done between families based on agreed terms between them connecting the families and placing one above the other,' Xue Li said.
'There's such a thing? Please explain more,' Huno said.
'Yes, two families agrees one become the head family while the other become the branch but this involves a ritual connecting the two by an oath to the heavens, it is said this oath can not be broken because the heaven itself acknowledge it, the most recent situation about this happened seventy years ago, the family members who broke the oath were struck by lightning or felt the environment around them draw away their life force,' Xue Li said.
'This kind of thing puts us in a shackle,' Huno said.
'Yes, but the shackle is limited to the agreement made, we just need to make an agreement that will not affect us, if they agree good if they don't no worry for us we can always run to the cold region,' Xue Li said.
'That's true, so what agreement would you like to make?'.
'For the Twilight family the agreement can go as follows, the Leechiro family will offer shelter and protection for them in the face of extinction like they want, the Leechiro family will not get involved in their family business or affairs but catch is during a life and death situation the survival of our family must be top priority. Meaning when there is no hope for everyone to survive, the other family must do everything to let us survive, even if it means death,' Xue Li said. The four guards stared at her, stunned by what she said.
Not minding their gaze she continued, 'for the array masters and their families they'll be provided shelters, protection, if what they need for cultivation and practice is available we are entitled to provide in exchange the same plus they'll be arrange array for us,'.
The room was silent. No one said anything and stared at Huno, who was thinking. 'Does anyone have a suggestion?' Huno asked. Everyone said they didn't.
'So we would do junior sister's idea?' Huno asked.
'I have only one request. Yu Chani and Su Qing must join our family to serve the two madams. They become members of the head family,' Luna said.
'You want to protect them?' Huno asked and Luna nodded.
'Protect,' Huno muttered and frowned.
He thought for a while and said, 'let's not tie unnecessary luggages to our life, I'll accept in exchange for services, our freedom to decide is more important than anything, humans who are not family are not dependable in the face of danger,'.
Huno stood up, took two steps and stopped and looked around. The room changed. A figure stood in front of him. The figure had no face, blood flowed down its body and even with no face, Huno felt the figure was smiling. Huno heard gunshots and someone else fell down. The shadow like figure walked towards him. Huno started panting. He didn't know why, but he was scared. The figure was closing in quickly, just five steps away… Three, two, something grabbed him from behind. Huno's entire body jerked, and he blinked severally. 'are you okay?' Luna asked, holding his arm.
Huno turned, looked and saw Ma Lie, Lee Wei and Xue Li standing behind Luna with a worried expression on. 'I'm fine, I'm fine,' Huno said and rushed out of the room.
'What is wrong?' Lee Wei said. 'It was obvious he was afraid while he was spacing out. His last sentence triggered that fear,' Xue Li said. 'Maybe something from his past?' Luna asked. 'Maybe you have to talk to him later, maybe you can comfort him,' Xue Li said. 'This is the first time I've seen him show a look of fear,' Lee Wei said. 'Whatever he remembered must have been a very terrible experience,' he added
