Taken aback by Claude's reaction, Wade scoffed at him and tried to brush it off.
"What is that supposed to mean? Are you suggesting that I'll do something to the poor boy?"
"One can never be too sure," Claude quipped.
Wade burst out laughing, barely able to catch his breath. He wiped away some tears and sat straight while shaking his legs. This behavior was quite unbecoming of a prince, but he still somehow exuded the air of a royalty.
"Didn't you say he was an imposter? I was under the impression you didn't care much for the boy."
"Not in the least, Your Highness," Claude replied. "I still think he is a fraud, but…"
He trailed off, gazing out of the car window as the orange glow of the sunset drenched the field. He furrowed his brow and continued.
"He's amusing."
And perhaps even good company…
"He's amusing?" Wade replied, dumbfounded. "That's it? Amusement?" His voice carried an evident tinge of annoyance.
