She made sure that her friend had something to eat first before she broke the news as it would be hard for the latter to swallow a single grain after knowing how wild their night had been. This kind of night would be forever etched in their minds and not in a good way.

"Did you do something?" Amber asked. Seeing Esmeralda being on pins and needles around her was telling her from the beginning that something was not right. But she was thinking that maybe she was thinking too much. Although her insides had been screaming that something was not right, she was ignoring her.
