Bab 404: Stop Smiling Away

Michael looked at Wendy expectantly as she put down the phone. He looked like he was waiting for her answer. Wendy met his eyes and lowered them immediately.

She wasn't sure what to say to him.

She tried to avoid the question. "It's getting late," she commented. "Let's get going.

It wouldn't be appropriate for us to stay too long here in this office."

She turned to walk away but Michael's voice held her back. "Wendy, can't you give me another chance?"

Wendy was in a dilemma as she didn't know if she should give him another chance.

She didn't turn around but with a serious tone, she said, "I am Todd's girlfriend now.

Surely you know what that means?"

Michael had always ignored the fact that Todd and her were together. Since he wanted to talk about this problem so openly, Wendy decided to throw the question at him.

"I..." Michael certainly knew what she meant. They were all adults.
