Bab 8: Waltz Of The Shadows
"Hey miss! What are you doing here?! Hurry up and go home! You'll get sick or even freeze to death in those clothes anyway!" said Gideon to the girl who was flipping through pages of the book she was carrying.
"Oh really? Don't worry about me, just worry about yourself because tonight might be the last time you breathe!", the girl replied with a cold demeanor as she continued to look at the pages of the book in her hands.
Suddenly behind them a dying Vampire warrior got up and tried to run away from there with a staggering body.
Realizing that the girl also used her black magic power to manipulate the shadow of the vampire warrior who was about to escape.
Suddenly a huge black jaw appeared from the shadow of the vampire's body which immediately devoured on his body to death and left only a severed head rolling on the ground.
Instantly the three of them were shocked as if they couldn't believe what they had just witnessed.
"What a shame! What trash!", said the girl after killing the vampire soldier who was trying to escape.
"Agatha! Gideon! Beware, she's a Shadowmancer!", Castor said to Gideon and Agatha.
The girl closed her book and looked at the three of them with her evil-looking deep red eyes.
"I'd better play with you guys first, Light Scourges...", the girl said as she took out a dagger and hooked the hilt to the end of the chain tied to her body.
The three of them were even more curious about the true identity of the girl they were about to face.
Because to their knowledge, so far the technique of fighting armed with a chain dagger has only been mastered and used by the Light Scourges.
"Miss! Who are you?!", asked Castor.
The girl replied coldly, "It is not important for you to know, because soon you will disappear in my hands!".
With a very fast movement, the girl swung her chain dagger at the three of them but they managed to dodge it.
As soon as the three of them came forward to deal with the attack that the mysterious girl had launched.
The speed and shrewdness of the mysterious girl managed to overwhelm Castor, Agatha and Gideon, even she seemed to be dancing with her chain dagger which was successively slashed to and fro targeting prey.
Suddenly Agatha shouted at Gideon who had been looking strange, because he seemed to only survive by dodging and warding off every attack without trying to retaliate.
"What are you doing idiot?!" Agatha shouted in an annoyed tone to Gideon.
Without feeling the slightest guilt Gideon replied, "How could I hurt a woman?!"
Hearing this strange answer, Agatha became even angrier.
"Mark my words! When I'm done with her, I'll really kick your ass!" Agatha threatened Gideon.
Castor immediately intervened to stop the ill-timed argument and asked them to be extra vigilant because the opponents they faced this time were not random people.
Finally Castor came up with a good plan, he lured the girl towards a pile of large wooden blocks arranged near one of the buildings not far from them and as planned the girl moved closer to that point.
When the girl swung her chain dagger, Castor quickly plunged both of his swords into the slit in the chain of the girl's weapon and drove it into the pile of logs, successfully blocking the mysterious girl's weapon and attack.
"Agatha! Now!", Castor ordered Agatha.
Without wasting a chance Agatha immediately ran towards the mysterious girl, using Gideon as a jumping platform Agatha landed a powerful kick that managed to hit the mysterious girl in the face, making her opponent bounce hard for several meters and collapsed.
"What the...! Hey! This is rude!", Gideon shouted at Agatha who used him as a jumping platform.
"Take that you shit!", Agatha screamed at her opponent.
"Hey! You're being too far!" Gideon yelled at Agatha.
"Shut up! You! What useful thing have you been doing all this time, huh?!" Agatha replied as she tugged on Gideon's collar.
"Both of you! Just stop it! Now let's tie her up and bring her in for interrogation," Castor snapped at his two comrades.
A moment later when they were about to approach the mysterious girl who they thought had unconscious, something unexpected happened, the mysterious girl was able to get back up.
More strangely, she did not seem to be injured in the slightest and did not seem to feel any pain at all after being hit by such a powerful kick.
"Looks like I underestimated your abilities...", the girl said as she widened the cold smile on her revealed face.
She pulled back the hood of her head that had been uncovered off by the violent attack.
"What?! You're...?!...I didn't expect you to be so beautiful like that!" said Gideon spontaneously, who was mesmerized when he saw the mysterious girl's face clearly.
Suddenly, all three of them felt unable to move at all, as soon as the shadows of their bodies turned into large palms that gripped their bodies tightly.
With her deep red shining eyes, the girl slowly walked over to Agatha and said, "So...,do you have any last words to say?".
"Oh Come on! Can't we talk about this and explain who you are?" Gideon said to the girl.
"Oh of course...no need!", the girl replied in a snappy tone to Gideon.
But fortunately, before they could be harmed, a thick black cloud covered the moonlight so that the three of them managed to escape from the girl's magical grip.
Agatha quickly sent a powerful roundhouse kick towards her opponent's face, but unfortunately this time Agatha's attack was successfully avoided by the girl.
"Damn you!", Agatha scolded the girl.
The three of them again engaged in a very fierce attack with the girl and tried to take advantage of the situation to catch the mysterious girl before the moon showed its light again.
But a few moments passed and their efforts were in vain, the three of them who had tried desperately to catch their opponents had to be extra vigilant because the black clouds were now moving away from the moonlight they had concealed.
The girl again used her magic power to create large claws that were ready to grip them again.
"Wait! Gideon! Don't!", prevented Castor who sensed an oddity when Gideon was about to do something reckless.
Gideon recklessly jumped up to lunge at the girl's body and then pinned her down to hold her down.
"You?! Why...?! Why is your skin so cold?! Your body temperature is like a corpse...", said Gideon in shock as he continued to try to hold her body under him.
"You're in my trap now!", the girl said as she widened her cold smile.
Suddenly, a large, pointed index finger emerged from the shadow of the girl's body and stabbed Gideon in the stomach, leaving him still and bleeding.
Instantly, the other two were shocked by the reckless thing that Gideon had done earlier and by his current state.
Castor immediately snatched the chain to entangle the mysterious girl's body, while Agatha ran to help Gideon who was already weak and helpless.
"You idiot! Why do you always act that recklessly?" Agatha snapped at Gideon who was lying limp on her lap.
Keeping his usual casual demeanor, Gideon said something to the mysterious girl who had managed to get tangled up in Gideon's chain.
"Hey miss! You're exactly the type of woman I want to be! Besides being beautiful and voluptuous you are also very good at fighting!", said Gideon while laughing weakly.
"Gideon hang in there!", Castor said to Gideon.
The mysterious girl unexpectedly managed to escape from the chains by entering her own shadow and then surprisingly appeared a few feet behind the three of them.
Initially the girl intended to continue the battle and finish off the three of them on the spot.
However, when she was about to attack the three of them again, a large guy who was camouflaged by the darkness of the night suddenly appeared not far behind the mysterious girl.
It is not clear who and what the mysterious guy looks like, only the shadow of his large body and the look of his beast-like eyes.
"Samantha! That's enough! Lord Adrian orders you to go back!", said the guy whose figure was unclear to prevent the mysterious girl's actions.
"You're in luck this time, think of it as a little warning!", said the mysterious girl.
"Light Scourge! Remember well! Don't you dare interfere with our business again!", threatened the large guy figure.
"Adrian?", said Castor with great curiosity.
"Samantha....?",said Gideon as he laughed weakly and then passed out.
The girl slowly stepped back and shortly after, they both disappeared into the darkness of the night.
Not long after that Jacob and Victor who managed to return to Helberg with Purgatorite were shocked when they saw so many body parts of vampires scattered at several points in the village courtyard.
Feeling anxious as soon as possible they searched for the whereabouts of their three colleagues and how hysterical the two of them were after finding their two colleagues with Gideon who was lying unconscious on Agatha's lap.
The villagers who felt that the situation was safe ventured out to see the situation out there after the battle that occurred earlier.
The villagers rushed to help those who had sacrificed their safety to protect the people of Helberg.
