Aella dropped a morsel of food into her mouth and nearly moaned out loud from the delightful taste she got.
The chicken porridge tasted so good that she wondered who was the chef behind the great meals she had been getting since she was locked up in the cell.
Her pacific eyes moved to the male who subtly turned his face away as though he hadn't been staring at her the whole time.
He was the only one in this huge maze if she wasn't mistaken. So was he the one cooking this? Because this taste was too splendid to just pass through.
Was he a chef before he got captured by the demon or was he was working in a public place? No, she doubted he would be of low birth due to his looks and the grace with which he carried himself.
If he was dressed in gold and silk, she would have thought him to be a King of a faraway kingdom, his pulchritude was just that spectacular.
She pondered and placed the spoon on her lips. Could he be a Lord? A Baron just like her father? Or even a Duke?
But then, no, if he was of noble birth and such high a position, it would have been difficult for the demon to apprehend him.
But then again, what does she know anyway?
"Quit staring like I'm a spectacle and eat your food,"
Aella's cheeks flashed red as she was caught in midst of her thoughts. She blinked and hurriedly looked away.
"Huh, a spectacle indeed you are," she huffed and took another spoon from the bowl.
"Inquiries to be made," Bane muttered and she glanced up to see him staring at her with question.
Her heart immediately raced up and she found it hard to swallow the porridge in her mouth.
What kind of inquiries did he want to make? His expression was so serious that it unnerved her but then, he had never had an unserious look on his face.
"Who are you?" Bane blurted out and Aella almost threw up her food.
"W-What do you mean by that?" She stuttered as she coughed.
She had no idea why his question stunned her completely. What did he mean by who was she? Did he think her an assassin who had come to kill his master?
But, in a way, that was quite the way to describe her.
"Is understanding a problem now? I asked who are you?" Bane raised an eyebrow.
"Aella, I told you yesterday, remember?" She uttered.
"Not your name. I mean what are you?" He pressed. It seemed he was adamant about knowing about her today.
"A person. Something known as human," she let out as a matter of fact.
His expression was incomprehensible as he remained silent for a while.
"I sense a mockery," his eyebrows were furrowed as he looked down.
She bit her inner cheek. What exactly does he want to know?! Why the sudden interrogation? Did his Master ask him to do this? Did they question all their prisoners before they ate them?!
"And why are you so interested in me?" She threw back his way.
If he wouldn't stop querying her, she might as well start hers.
Bane looked up at her as though she had just spewed gibberish. His face looked like he had been pooped on.
"Interested isn't the word. More like a prerequisite," he muttered coolly but her eyes narrowed.
Prerequisite for what? All their prisoners?
"And why can't I ask you the same questions? Who are you and what do you want from me?" She lifted her chin and asked.
"To be reminded, you are in my domain and you're being nursed by me. You owe me answers,"
"I owe naught. Technically speaking, you are the one of suspicious behaviours. You brought me here against my will, reportedly stripped me naked over a fever, and you have been feeding me. Don't I deserve to know the agenda behind all these?" Aella raised an eyebrow and for a second, she thought she had him there but his expression remained as stony as ever.
"Would you have rather been out there and devoured by the monsters?" He retorted.
"I managed to keep myself alive for 28 sunsets. What is devoid of me not making it out alive myself?" She hurled his way without a second to breathe.
Bane stayed silent for some moments. Only his golden eyes were simmering on her face. She could hardly guess what was going on in that head of his.
How does he manage to block out all emotions from his face? It was times like this that made him seem inhumane.
"Y-You aren't going to kill me, are you?"
A foolish question, she knew that but she just couldn't stop herself from blurting it out. No matter how hard she tried to stay sane, the fear of her life rested on her neck.
She had no idea when or how the demon would take her life and it terrified her to the core.
Aella realized that the hope of returning to her family had long been washed away since the very first day she had been kept in the cell.
She was captured by the ferocious creature and she doubted she would live her way out of here. After all, she was nothing but a measly human.
Aella jumped up a bit when Bane stood up from the chair and advanced towards her with his stealthy long legs.
She moved back, not understanding why he was heading towards the bed with a blank look on his face.
Her heartbeats went up as she looked around the room frantically for something to defend herself.
What was he doing? Why was he coming towards her? Did he want to take her life here and now?!
B-But she hasn't finished her food yet!
Bane stood a fair distance away from the bed and she strained to look at his towering height which looked like a mountain beside her.
"U-Uh, I-I-" words couldn't form in her mouth.
Aella saw his hand reaching forward and moving to her back. She instinctively arched up her upper body as his lengthy arms extended behind her.
Her pacific eyes widened as his face was left a few inches away from hers. So close. So close that she could feel his rhythmic breaths on her face.
His golden orbs settled into her face without a blink and Aella lost all lines of her bearings. She felt like she was floating in the air for a solid minute.
With her face heated up, a hiccup left her mouth when she felt the ropes in her dress tightening. His skilful fingers were tying up the corset without even taking a look at it.
His focus was only on her face and her entire body felt as though she was near a blazing fire. She felt too hot.
"If I intended on taking your life. Have conviction, I would have done so from the very moment I laid my eyes on you, Aella," he breathed out.
Aella found it hard to grasp the air around her. Her name had been called more than a million times in her life but never once had her heart jolted from her chest from hearing her name.
The way it rolled out of his tongue so efficiently created a budding heat in between her thighs. This had never happened to her before. She didn't know what was going on.
Was this also part of his magic tricks? Could he also hypnotize her with just a look from his eyes?
With one last tug at her dress, Bane brought his hands forward and ran his fingers through the ends of her blonde locks.
Intoxicating and frighteningly bewitching.
With that, he straightened up and stalked off.
First moment of heat there. Hehe
