Chapter 55: Date?
"Done.. I'm done with the the painting you can finally see it now." Melissa said excitedly.
Jeremy walked over to her and looked at the painting. It was excellent. He didn't even know he looked that good. She was an amazing artist. But Offcourse he wasn't going to tell her that, Not right away atleast.
"Well?" Melissa asked when he said nothing.
"It's alright." Jeremy said casually.
"Alright?"
"Yes. Quite good."
Ouite good wasn't a bad thing to say for a man of he's taste but Melissa had expected a better reaction.
"Okay, atleast you like it then." Melissa said a little disappointed. Jeremy noticed the change in her mood he sighed and said
" I really do like it, your an amazing artist." Jeremy said with more enthusiasm this time.
"Thank you." Melissa replied happily, she was glad that he liked it.
"Melissa." Jeremy called.
"Yeah?"
"I would like you to be my date to an event I'm planning on attending tomorrow."
"Your date for a party?" Melissa asked in total awe. She thought she heard wrongly. Where did that suddenly come from?
"Yes." Came Jeremy's short reply.
"Mmm..I don't know what to say." Melissa told Jeremy.
"A yes would be nice." Jeremy said as he smiled at her. He didn't usually smile but he knew it would have an effect on her.
Melissa froze on the spot. He's smile was enchanting, how could she refuse with a smile like that. Finally she managed to react not letting him spell bind her mind completely.
"You must be really desperate if your asking me." Melissa said sarcastically she wanted to see his reaction and hear what he would say.
"No. Your perfect. That's why I'm asking you." Jeremy said sweetly as he smiled again. Melissa could feel her insides melting. She didn't think he would say something so nice she felt flustered. And God that smile wasn't helping. Why didn't he smile like this for the portrait.
"I'll think about it." Melissa finally said.
"Great. Aleast you didn't say no. The party starts by 7 I'll send someone to pick you up."
"Okay?" Melissa replied confused. She hadn't even agreed to go yet and he was already making plans to pick her up.

Gosh! No way, his date? Melissa.. that's amazing." Came Nicky's reaction after Melissa told her that Jeremy had asked her to be his date. "Finally. I always knew there was something going on between you two and now it getting official." Nicky said giggling like a four year old who was being tickled.
"There's nothing going on between us. We are only attending a party together and that's all. Besides I haven't made up my mind yet so..."
"So nothing! Your going to that party with Jeremy as his date, Am I clear!" Nicky said sternly.
"No."
"Why not?."
"Better question, why me?"
"Why didn't you ask him that."
"I did. And he said it's because l was perfect."
"Brilliant! Then why are you still asking me then. Listen I know you haven't done this In a while but your gonna be just fine. Go with him!" Nicky persuaded.
"Fine I'll.. go."
"Yes!!." Nicky cheered. "And after the date, Well....you know what might happen next, right?" Nicky asked with a wink.
"Nicky! Shut up. How could you even say such a thing." Melissa said. She couldn't even imagine that possibility. She wasn't ready for such. Maybe she couldn't go afterall. She was in a state of confusion when she heard the door bell.
"Could that Sam?" Nicky asked.
"No. She isn't coming back until Wednesday." Melissa said as she walked out to go get the door.
Melissa opened the door to reaveal a delivery man. Which she wasn't expecting because she didn't order anything.
"Hello have a delivery for miss Williams."
" That's me." Melissa replied confused as she took the package from the delivery man. She signed for it and he was on his way.
"What's that?" Nicky asked when Melissa walked in holding a package.
"I don't know. It has my name on it though." Melissa said as she examined the package.
"Then let's open it up."
They carefully opened the box and when they lifted the cover off, Melissa and Nicky could not help but gasp at the sight. Inside the box layed an exquisite evening dress, silver accessories and matching heels.
"Oh my! This dress is definitely a designer piece! And these jewels and shoes, Oh my God! So beautiful. Jeremy must have sent these."
Well duh..! It was obvious Melissa thought. But she didn't understand why he bothered to send her clothes, maybe he didn't want to get embarrassed by her so he sent these to make sure. Wow! She couldn't say she wasn't upset by his gesture. A huge frown appeared on her face.
"What's wrong? Don't you like it?" Nicky asked when she noticed the huge frown on her face.
"No. It's nice. I just wonder why he would go through the trouble of getting me these."
"He was just being considerate I'm sure the party you'll be attending won't be a normal one." Nicky told Melissa.
Melissa sighed. "Rich people." She murmured angrily "Always being considerate."
