The car ride home was long really long. But It was not in the slightest bit boring. All thanks to Steve.
He made her laugh non stop with silly jokes about everything. He had a very charming personality. And was very funny. He had told her almost everything about himself already.
And now it was her turn.
"So Melissa are you from New York.?"
"No... I'm actually from Brooklyn."
"Oh. Wow.
"What.?"
" I believe Jeremy grew up in Brooklyn to."
"He did.?"
"Yeah, he did. He'd once mentioned it
Although he doesn't talk about it very often. Almost never actually."
"Why.? Does he have bad memories of the place.?"
"I have no idea. He never says anything."
"Well have you tried asking him about it? You know, talk to him as a friend."
"As a friend." Steve laughed. "Pardon me I'm really sorry but have you met the guy. He barely listens to anyone he would never talk to anyone either. That's just how he is."
"Oh..." Melissa said as she remembered the night when she was drunk and told Jeremy that he looked sad. How stupid she felt when she remembered everything this morning. But now when she thought about it, his magnificent grey eyes did show some kind of sadness in them. Something...painful something she could relate to cause she'd been horriblely sad before.
"That's just how he his. That's his usual self." Steve said with a pause then looked at Melissa. "But l noticed something new about him."
"What.?"
"He's always staring at your painting."
"He his.?"
"Yep. Everyday. The butler confirmed it."
"Why.?"
"Shouldn't l be asking you that question. Your the artist."
"I don't know. Your his friend." Melissa said with a chuckle. She really liked the fact she was getting along with Steve he was simply loveable. And she wondered why Jeremy would like the painting so much.
"Ah..hem. " Steve cleared his throat. "I think it's more of the artist less of the painting."
"You think your friend likes me." Melissa said with a laugh. "Clearly you don't know your friend at all. I'm pretty such he hates me." Melissa said remembering everything she put him through last night. How she Puked on him, asking him to hug her and Forcing him to sleep with her. Wait! that last one can out wrong.
"Are you okay.?" Steve asked when he noticed how pale Melissa was starting to look.
"Yes. I'm absolutely fine.?"
"Ok. So what were you thinking about.?" Steve asked with a smirk.
"Private matters." Melissa answered.
"I see don't let them get to you. We're almost there."
"I won't."
"Good....So are you ever planning on visiting
again.?"
Planning? Visiting? She didn't plan any of this.
And the chances were really low for her ever visiting ever again.
"No. I don't think so."
"Why not.?"
"I already told you before. Your friend hates me. And there really isn't any need to ever visit again. I don't even know anything about him.Other than him being a good person who helped me. We're not friends or family or anything. So l don't see any reason why l should ever visit.
"I see." Steve said thoughtfully. Any girl in her right senses would race after someone like Jeremy. Especially after he had brought her to his home. He comfort place. Which he had never done before. That was like a perfect opportunity. Why wasn't she seeing that he clearly liked her.
"Mmm.... maybe she's blind." Steve thought. "Want she needs is an eye opener." And he was perfect for the job.
