POV: Manuel
I woke up but should I even do so? I simply stared at the white ceiling wondering If I made the right decision, not joining my mother In heaven. The door unlocking echoed through the room as I glanced over expecting to see Adam and Instead see a sorry looking man In a lab coat nervously fiddling with his fingers walk in. He cleared his throat upon noticing my stare "I'm sorry to say this Mr. Manuel... but your friend Adam he's had a freak accident during a medical check this morning." ~heavens getting more appealing by the second~
I quickly narrowed my eyes at the man, who noticed the growing distrust within my eyes. "We realized that you might not believe us, so I came prepared with the security cam footage." He pulled out a blue disk from a pocket in his lab coat and slides it into a slot on the wall that wasn't there before. "What's your name?" I question the man. "My name is Tomas hardle but you can call me doctor hardle" he answers nervously whilst avoiding eye contact but before I can further press him the room changed. Various hidden compartments within the room opened up revealing a thick layer of wires, cables and other electrical parts hidden behind our thin walls. A projector mounted on a pole lowered itself from the roof as a black screen extended outwards from the top of a wall until it reached halfway to the floor. The projector came to life with a hum as the video began with a black screen as the words РФБА made their appearance before fading into black before finally showing Adam entering a room and sliding the door behind him close. He looked around before saying something to himself as he ran to a door to the right that had the label of a bathroom. After a while, he came out and walked around the room curiously as he went before a clean operating table that was at the center of the room. A blonde man walked In and motioned for him to sit down on the table.
"Who is that?" I question Dr. Hardle. "That would be Dr. Miso is a remarkable man in the field of medicine." Dr. Miso asked Adam about something to which Adams' lips showed that he quickly responded.
"why does the footage not have audio?"
"The camera's microphone was faulty, sir." I eyed the suspicious man but my attention is drawn back to the screen as the doctor puts on a mask and proceeds to pull a lever just as Adam closes his eyes. The machine slowly shakes and glows a light green as it charges up before It darkens and changes to a deep shade of red. The lights in the room are turned off by the doctor right as the machine released a transparent red beam that immediately hit Adam's stomach and slowly widens as it scans his entire body. However a single red wire popped out of the machine and fired a ray of white light towards Adam which hit him directly in the chest which slowly removed his skin but left his flesh untouched. The transparent beam slowly became less transparent as Adam's body began to levitate as the visibility of him diminished. The skin that was previously removed began swirling in the air around him like ribbons on a windy day as they danced around him. This development however got the doctor out of his stupor as he quickly turned the machine off using the same lever that turned it on. Adam fell back to the table as the machine was turned off and the lights were switched on. Meanwhile, the doctor rushed to an intercom next to his computer before desperately shouting "send help to lab 46, code hue I repeat code hue."
As his patient lay in the center of the room raised his right hand up in the shape of a thumbs up and then promptly passed out. The video ended with a zoom in on a passed out Adam. "What's code hue?" I ask curiously. "It's a code that we use to signify a malfunction occurred with a piece of machinery which resulted in someone obtaining a severe Injury." Dr.Hardle responds calmly. "How is he right now?" I question "He's currently in a non critical state but if left untreated the chances of death will steadily increase." He says with a bit of hesitation
"Don't you have a way to fix his condition?" I ask concerningly.
"Unfortunately, as of right now no" he says cautiously whilst trying to read me to see how I'll react. "What the fuck do you mean no" I say as I throw my hands into the air to restrain myself. "what the fuck are you doing to him right now then?" I question loudly as the doctor raises his hands defensively. "As of right now were keeping him in a cryo pod until we can fix his condition." Dr.Hardle said calmly. "Give it to me straight doc, how long does he actually have?" I question a bit more calmly as the doctor slowly starts to lower his hands. "If our math is correct, we estimate that he'll survive for around 300 years give or take; which would leave us with more than enough time to get him treatment sometime next year."
"Why next year?"I question "You see the mercenaries are still trying to take over vermilt city but the federations should be able to liberate it in at least a year even if the mercs heavily fortify it."
"What the hell? At that point you might as well give me one of those cryo pods." I exclaim. "Unfortunately sir, they're reserved for our senior staff with the only exception being your friend. "Can I at least see him? Or get a tour around rooms where you keep the cryo pods" I ask while throwing my hands into a pleading posture and give him my best puppy eyes. The Doctor shivers as his hair stands up "No" he responds coldly without even bothering to disguise the disgust in his voice. "What do I have to do to get a cryo pod of my own?" I ask as a last ditch effort. Dr.Hardle then rubs his nape for a couple seconds before finally saying "we should have this conversation in a more appropriate setting, come my office is just down the hall." Just as the duo are leaving the guest room a security guard bumps into them sending dr.hardle back in while the guard just dashes towards the director's room~so the guards carry hand cannons in a camouflaged holster.~"what an asshole didn't even apologize but don't worry not everyone is like that, we actually have a lot of good people living within our facility that usually live in harmony with one another."
...
A group of surgeons circled around a bald man on an operating table passing tools amongst themselves as a surgeon in blue scrubs highlighted the top half of the man's skull using their hands. The surgeon in blue scrubs looked at each of his coworkers whilst they simply nodded their head in agreement within their white scrubs. They then skillfully outlined the area that was highlighted previously before moving the patient onto a chair that sat below a machine that looked like a spider who had cables as legs all of which sported soft pads on them.
They proceeded to perform a cranormy using the drawn circle and quickly exposed the brain. Upon doing so an assistant went to a desk located a few feet away and proceeded to lower the spider machine. Each surgeon then grabbed a cable leg from the spider before placing them precisely onto various parts of the brain. They then signaled to the assistant behind the desk before moving away from the patient. Electricity sizzled through the air around the bald man as the spider legs all lit up red indicating a successful copy of the man's consciousness being made. The spider then released an extra leg that swung at the brain, stopping just before it as it proceeded to implant a chip into the brain.
The surgeons all proceed to leave the room however the exits were sealed shut right as a room high above the assistants desk opens its curtains, the director of the medical department peaked out, a grim smile plastered on his face as he waved goodbye to the surgeon's below. The surgeon's proceeded to shout desperately as they knew what awaited them if they weren't released in time.
A surgeon in white simply sat on the ground completely giving up. "Why are you giving up Samuel, we can still be saved." the surgeon in blue stated. "Look at the time John, they're about to release siva to heal the patient and clean the room up of any potential biohazards in the room..... us included… we have no salvation." Most of the surgeons upon hearing this simply stopped their shouting and instead said their goodbyes to each other. Others however weren't so accepting as they fell into a sickening state of disparity, they clawed at the sealed doors repeatedly which left marks but that came at a price as their fingers became a bloody red mess with pieces of the gloves they wore becoming embedded into their flesh as they continued without care of the consequences.
A sealed vent opened with a warm red light emanating from within but to those in despair hopes of salvation were high as they charged to their liberty only to be torn apart by siva as they were slowly disintegrated in a matter of seconds leaving only their bones but even those weren't safe as siva encompasses them. The director simply sighs upon seeing their demise and turns to his butler "send in the back ups to take Mr. Adam back to his cryo pod." the director commands while walking back to his chair. The butler didn't move from the window nor did he do as he was commanded to, seeing that the director piped up again "didn't you hear me go call the back ups to take Mr. Adam back to his cryo pod." The director says loudly and slightly irritated.
"Very well sir, I shall do that right away." the butler says whilst heading out the door hurriedly. The butler entered the hallway before turning left into his office and moving a chair to sit before his desk. However, right as the butler was about to sit down an exo with several green strips lining his face came out from behind and put him into a chokehold "if you struggle I'll shoot you, plain and simple, so what do you say we take a little walk." They soon arrive before the directors room "open the door." He commanded coldly whilst planting his hand cannons barrel onto the butler's back. The butler reopened the door hoping to find a better opportunity for survival with the help of the director however that hope was quickly extinguished; for the director was snoozing on his desk while also ruining the coating on it with his drool simultaneously. The exo grinned as he blasted the butler's brain matter onto the walls to his left. The shot immediately woke up the director who immediately slammed his fist onto an emergency button which sealed his room off from the corridor as well as the surgery room. The director soon realized his mistake as he stares down the barrel of the hand cannon. "If you look closely you can see a little something in there" the exo says mockingly before cocking the gun. "w-What do you want" the director asks with a shaky voice. The exo simply takes a deep breath as an evil grin flashes across his face as he says "Take down the signal jammer or you're losing an eye." "You'll have to take my eye then Abraham" the director says, finally finding his confidence upon hearing the exo's threat. "I have to say I'm surprised you managed to upload yourself to our exo's but that ends all ends here.'' Just as then the security guards started lasering the sealed door which created a red hot line that was slowly growing in size. The exo shows slight displeasure as he shoots a single bullet swirling into the air which sends part of the director's brains flying out onto the right hand wall. Abraham kneeled next to me in my final moments "nothing personal Kenny just business." Those were the final words I heard as everything went black.
….
As they spoke a man lost in time rose from the depths of the ocean and levitated just above the water In what seemed like a dream. There was no sky above him, only the emptiness of space as he watched the traveler send a wave of white energy throughout a solar system. A portal shaped like a triangle opens beside him and a copy of him walks out but it seems to be made of red copper, plants, wires, and cables. The man ignores his copy as he continues to watch the wave become smaller and smaller until it fully disappears into the void. Something or someone noticed the two as a large shadow loomed over them, its mere presence knocking them out "it is not your time yet little ones" a rough voice said as It reopened the portal the copy made and pushed him back in. It then created a blue sky over the sea to prevent the void from ever being seen again from that plane. The shadow slowly dissipated as the sky was formed but It wasn't done as It touched the forehead of the man creating a mark which disappears right before the shadow dissipates.
