At high noon on the day of the first full moon of the new year, which marks the one year anniversary of the end of the great battle, Guy sent out a summon.
The coming night would be the official anniversary, and was when they all agreed to meet. As such, through the rings, Guy sent out a summon to the rest, telling them that he would have Rain and Misery teleport them over.
Preparing her leave, Gin told Emilia that she would be gone for at least the night but probably longer, and that she should keep everyone on their current arrangements, whether that be farming, fishing, making clothes, patrolling the grasslands, or something else. The plains which was mostly dirt had turned into a grassland due to Gin's blessing on the land.
Throughout the year, Gin had improved greatly. Her EP Value had only risen by a few thousand from the end of the battle to 211,132 (A+ Rank), due to missions, but her actual strength had risen greatly.
Gin had learned to fight in human form, and had improved her combat ability in both her forms. She gained more mastery of her elemental abilities when using [Control Particles], intrinsic skills, as well as basic magic.
That's right. Gin had learned basic elemental magic of the 5 main elements (Fire, earth, water, air, and lightning). This wasn't too effective in combat, as this was just basic manipulation, but it was a start.
Plus, Gin had greatly improved in using [Spatial Motion], no longer needed to use [Great Sage] to even cast it, though it was still much quicker when [Great Sage] assisted.
In human form, all Gin needed was a teacher or a reference point to learn swordsmanship. All the strongest beings knew how to use a sword, whether it be Guy, Milim, Chloe, Rudra, or Rimuru, all of them learned how to use the sword to a very high extent.
None of her people were able to teach her, as none of them knew anything about swords. The lizard men preferred to use spear, since its easier to use them while flying or underwater. The elves on the other hand preferred to use bows and arrows, as well as blow darts with poison on them. But when forced into close combat, they would use throwing knives and then quickly escape.
Gin put it on his agenda to recruit some dwarfs as master blacksmiths and engineers and some ogres in hopes of evolving them to Kijins by naming them and then eventually Fair Oni. With them, the village would be set, having everything it would need to develop.
Speaking of the village, it has basically maxed out its advancements for the time being. Using Magic and Skills has greatly improved farming techniques to the point where only a handful of people were needed for the entire field. Since the population of the village was still close to a thousand, there was no need to build more housing.
That meant that most of the population was either designing clothes, patrolling the outskirts of the country, and practicing self defense. Since everyone was able to train, all the training goals were met, with no one falling behind.
Since designing clothing had become increasingly popular, with a lot of internal competition, the fashion industry was booming.
The food industry was still stagnant though. There were a few new species of fish, and some different plants for food, but there was still not too many options.
----------
Finishing up looking at the end of the year report, Gin received a telepathic message from Guy, saying that Misery was on her way.
Right after this confirmation, a large gate had risen through a purple portal on the ground. This Gate looked exactly as it did in the anime, so Gin wasn't too surprised.
Taking a moment to appreciate the gate, as well as thanking Misery, Gin walked through the portal. Misery quickly shut the gate and followed her through.
On the other side of the portal, Gin bumped into Milim, who had entered her portal at the same time.
The exit portal was the same portal, so when both Milim and Ramiris had coincidentally appeared at the exact same time, she jumped in surprise.
Looking around the room, Gin notices its the same room as the Walpurgis banquet in the anime. Sitting at the same round table was Guy, sipping a very fragrant tea, joyfully smiling at the group who entered.
Looking outside, Gin noticed that they were not at Guy's Palace of White Ice, but instead a floating island that was very high in the atmosphere, the open windows facing towards stars.
Immediately after entering, Guy had told everyone to sit down and enjoy the tea.
But Ramiris and Milim had completely ignored Guy, as begun playfully bantering, competing about which one had arrived first.
This greatly annoyed Guy, as you could see the nerves at the corner of his forehead start to tense.
Seeing this, Gin told the duo, "Let's sit down first. The tea might get cold."
Guys mood instantly lightened, looking at Gin as if she was the world's savior. But this quickly changed when she added playfully. "You should continue arguing after that."
After calming down, finishing up the greetings and drinking the tea, the true first meeting of the Demon Lords had begun.
When everyone finished settling down, Guy began the meeting by asking everyone, "What are your goals?
Since I asked first, I may as well answer. I am the strongest being alive, and I want to fight other strong people. If not, then I at least want to become friends or rivals with all the strongest people alive."
Ramiris quickly interjected, "I don't really care about fighting. I just want to maintain the balance of the world."
Milim added by saying, "I'm not really sure, I just want to be free from all the rules that bind people, living life freely and enjoyably."
All these answers were a little obvious as they were easily reflected in their respective personalities. But everyone knew the next one would be different. It would be the most interesting. And everyone leaned in to prepare.
Realizing that everyone was expecting something big, or at least a small surprise, Gin closed her eyes and took a moment to think. Then she stood up, chugged down the remaining tea in her cup, slammed the cup on the table, took a deep inhale, opened her eyes again and finally said,
"I want to be entertained, whether it be from installing multiple people to secretly control the world and have heroes fight against the system, install a treasure that the entire world is after, create an evil so great that the entire world unites to fight against it, or create an group of orbs that grants wishes. And the first step would be to get myself a deeper, more hidden background, which is why I'm have created a country and closed its borders to outsiders, only allowing strong races to become citizens. I'm not being racist, I help those who need help. Its just that my country will become both my army, economic power, and foundation to become one of the superpowers behind the scene!" Gin announced grandly.
All three other participants in the meeting, who were leaning forward had smiled and laughed, liking the grand sounding goal.
But Guy especially was amused, as his plan of making the Council of Demon Lords had almost perfectly aligned with hers. None of the goals that the group shared interfered with his own, but Gin's was a surprise as her goal had included and even surpassed his own.
After such a grand statement, Guy felt it was the perfect time to strike.
"To accomplish everyone's goals, I'm planning on creating a Demon Lord Council, though not everyone needs to be an awakened Demon Lord. With the council, you would be free from the rules of mortals. You would maintain the balance of the world in the background. And you would be entertained by the squabbles of world down below, as well as from your fellow Demon Lords." Guy proposed.
But Gin pointed out that Ramiris might not be the best fit for this council, as she isn't a combat type. "Ramiris isn't exactly the fighting type. Would she be able to handle people challenging her?"
"Instead of being a full Demon Lord, she could be the witness to meetings, maintaining balance in the council. She could still vote and participate in meetings, but to show her impartiality, she wouldn't get the title.
She could also be the one to appoint the future heroes who will challenge the Demon Lords. They wouldn't all be true awakened heroes, but she could give them Spirits to assist them in saving people." Added Guy. He also didn't think that Ramiris truly fit the picture of a Demon Lord, but this idea was just as good.
Gin agreed to the invitation, since that was her entire plan from the start. Milim also agreed, saying it would be fun to start a group of strong people. Ramiris was a little hesitant at first, not liking the idea of joining the "Evil" side, but she liked the 2nd part, where she would be considered the witness and balance keeper, and that she could continue to appoint heroes, so she agreed as well.
Seeing everyone agree, Guy moved to the 2nd point of business, the rules of the council.
Wanting to keep most things the same as they would have been, Gin proposed, " Once more members join, why don't we implement a system of threes, where it would take three Demon Lords to start a meeting, three to promote a new Demon Lord, three to propose or remove a rule or agreement and so on."
Liking the idea, Guy quickly agreed. But he misunderstood Gin's intentions, as he thought that this was to glorify the fact that the council started with three members.
But he then added, "Let's also make it so that if an outsider challenges and defeats a sitting Demon Lord, they would be able to take their place.
Milim, liking the idea of getting challenged, jumped up and down excitedly.
Since Ramiris wouldn't be getting challenged, she agreed as well.
With everyone agreeing, Guy had finished his business and ended the official part of the meeting by saying grandly, "Since we are all in agreement, I will try to find a few potential members so we can increase our ranks. I already found a few, including a Giant, Vampire, and a Fallen. After that, we will make ourselves known to the world."
And with that, everyone lightly chatted for another hour before they headed out on their way.
Gin invited Milim to go with her, but she rejected the offer, wanting to stay in Ramiris's labyrinth until Gaia and Lin hatch, but afterwards, she would go. Gin, agreeing to Milim's plan, said that she would try to visit at least a few times before they hatched.
After some light hearted farewells, Rain teleported Ramiris and Milim away, back to where they left from.
After they left, but before Gin was able to leave, Guy stopped her and invited her to his Palace of White Ice.
"What's the invitation for?" Gin asked, confused.
"Its a surprise," Guy said with a smirk.
Intrigued by the offer, Gin accepted. Guy nodded to Misery, who then opened a portal that led to the castle. Guy stepped through first, followed by Misery, and then Gin. Normally, Misery would have let Gin go first, since it would be proper etiquette for a maid, but it must have been part of the surprise.
After Gin stepped through the portal, arriving at her destination, a white haired girl who looked slightly older than her surprised her by hugging her, stuffing her face into her chest.
"Little sister! I finally get to meet you,"
