As Roman got ready for his mother's yacht party, Anton stepped in, watching him. Seeing his friend looking melancholy, Roman just rolled his eyes.

"Stop what? Ever since you had to pretend you and Poppy are over, you've been a mess."

"I don't want to hurt, Anton. I love that woman."

"I know, and you're doing what you think is best to protect her. When she knows why you had to back away from her, she'll understand."

"I can't do this. She thinks I'm mad at her about Remi and I can't even speak to her."

"I think it's bothering you about Remi too. You two haven't spent a day apart since we were kids. The day you kicked your dad's ass."

Roman let a slight smirk curl on his lips. "You remember that?"

"Are you kidding me? It was the only time I remember my dad taking up for the good guy."
