IVAN POV
I watched as Arianne's jaw slackened open, her eyes glazing over with a hollow, vacant stare. It was in that terrible moment that I knew — she was gone. I had lost her to Nyana's control.
It happened in slow, agonizing silence for me, though the room was anything but quiet. The rest of our family was shouting, yelling her name, desperate to pull her back. The twins' voice cut through the chaos, rough and pained, calling out for their sister, their eyes wide and pleading. Irene too was reaching forward, her hands trembling as she stretched out toward her daughter. Even Tag'arkh who was bound on her wrist, yelled out, her sound muffled as she struggled against the restraint holding her.
