My mind raced as Rollin's words echoed in my mind, urging me to move faster towards the room where Arianne was being kept. The agonizing yell that reverberated through the corridor only fueled my urgency, drowning out all other thoughts and distractions. I had felt something was wrong with Arianne before I heard her scream. I didn't know how it was possible since the bond was broken, but then I could feel the echoes of her suffering, a connection that should have been broken long ago.

Confusion clouded my thoughts s I raced towards her room. How could I feel her pain when the bond had been severed? But the runes on her body, I saw them. They were barely visible but I knew they shouldn't be there. The runes were a mark of the bond that had once linked us, a bond that had been broken by Madea, or was it?

"Dad!" Cyril yelled as she ran to meet me, throwing her arms around me as tears streamed down her face.
