Bab 254: Ticking Time

 Entering the dim-lit underground dungeon, Roshan made his way to the prison cell where he had kept Freya locked in, the guards who came to inform him followed behind. Upon reaching the bars of her cell, two guards were already standing at the entrance with the cell door opened, and to Roshan's silent horror, the lady in turn had sprawled to the ground- her blood flowing profusely from where she got viciously stabbed.

In her loosened grip, she was holding a dagger that was coated with blood, enough to send him the clear message that she might have stabbed herself. 

Crouching over her motionless body, Roshan took hold of the bloodied dagger in her grip, his hazel-green eyes inspecting it thoroughly, and he handed it over to the guard who was standing beside him, his expression dulled as he no longer heard the beating of her heart against his eardrums.
