Bab 20: The Wedding Tea Party
The Xiao mansion was re painted in blue color.
The front part of the house was decorated with white balloons.
A few chattering were heard from the back garden where the tea party was held.
There was a round white table on the right side of the garden. White little tea cups were arranged with jugs.
There were also beautiful white chairs all arranged in a row. Those chairs were meant for the guests.
Noble and wealthy people were going to be present, so the tea party had to be planned perfectly.
Huiyin was seating on a stool inside Xiao Shuang's room, she was dressed in a salmon pink colored chinese dress, her black shiny hair was held in a bun, she sat looking at the mirror while the maid continued to help her wear the makeup.
"You look very pretty young miss" The maid told her after she was done with the make up.
"Thank you miss" Huiyin beamed. She took a look at the mirror one more time and realized that she looked more radiant than ever.
The maid went out of the room while she remained inside. Huiyin was nervous as usual, she couldn't bare making tea for the guests, while they all stare at her.
She didn't like the strict tradition of the Xiao family. None of all these stresses were done during MeiYin's wedding. The Yu families only followed the chinese tradition and culture while getting married, but as for Xiao family, they follow the chinese rule and also have rules that they had created for themselves.
She wanted to ask Xiao Shuang the reason why all those traditions were made, but she got into thinking that Xiao Shuang would call her selfish and claim that she wants to change his family tradition.
"Nervous again?" She heard a voice that pulled her from her thoughts.
It was Xiao Shuang dressed in a black colored tuxedo, his black hair was shining due to the cream he had applied. On his wrist was a beautiful silver colored wrist watch that his mother had gifted him when she went for shopping.
"No, I'm not nervous" Huiyin lied. "You look very handsome"
"As always. And you are much more beautiful" He replied.
Huiyin blushed. "Thank you"
She watched as he went to the wardrobe, and the memories of their school days flashed in her mind. She couldn't believe that she was getting married to him.
"So can you tell me more about the tea party mother is hosting?" Huiyin asked cautiously, she spoke in a way that wouldn't raise suspense. Such rich family do take things for granted. A person could hear her ask the question and may twist her words as something else, he or she will forward the matter to Zhi Ruo and Xiao peng who wouldn't take it lightly with her, so from now on till her wedding day, she need to speak carefully.
"The tea party, I think it is to show the guests your skills in making tea. The family loves tea very much" He explained shortly.
"Oh,"
"So I shall be going out there, make sure you walk carefully so you wouldn't slip and fall. And remember to be very brave. The people our there are humans not ghosts" He told her while walking out.
He was going to seat in his own chair and wait for Huiyin to come out, that was another family tradition.
Liang Huiyin closed her eyes and said a small prayer in her mind. "God please be with me"
She stood up and walked outside carefully as to avoid tripping down the stairs.They are probably some evil people there who were going to laugh at her if she took a misstep and stumbled.
And she arrived outside standing near the curtains. Huiyin swallowed her saliva of worry and walked down the last stairs to the table where the cups and jugs were kept.
She was going to give the first cup of tea to Xiao Shuang, next to Zhi Ruo, then her mother, sister and brother.
She smiled while giving it to them. After giving the tea to the people seated at the front row, she would stop then everybody will serve themselves the tea.
Huiyin finished serving them, then she sat at the table with her family.
Just like the behavior of Liang Lixin, he looked very unhappy and seems to be feigning a smile at everyone.
Huiyin knew that she has done a very terrible mistake by not telling her brother about Xiao Shuang, she told Liang Lixin about Xiao Shuang on the day they met MeiYin at the Chen hotel, but he showed no expression and he never did ask her about him.
On the other hand, Liang MeiYin looked chatty and happy when she and Xiao Shuang spoke.
Quite excited that her sister was getting married to a reputable and well honored family, just like she her.
"So I have a joke, listen carefully" An Ruan spoke next.
Liang Lixin didn't pay any full attention to what the family were saying, he only stared at Huiyin with a cold look on his face.
And Huiyin could guess that he was not happy.
".... And the man said it looked like a bathroom" An Ruan ended her joke while everyone held their bellies as they laughed out loud.
After the merriment, MeiYin and Huiyin sat at the gazebo to talk.
"I don't know why brother Lixin is just so angry with me" She began.
"You should know your brother behavior, he is really pissed off. But don't worry, he will become cheerful. He us just jealous" MeiYin laughed.
"So when are you returning to xiecheng?" Huiyin asked warmly.
"I am leaving after your wedding dear. Don't worry, I will still stay with you." MeiYin answered. "Look, here comes your fiance, I will leave" She stood up and left the place.
Huiyin smiled while she saw Xiao Shuang walking towards her.
"Sister left?" He asked while seating down.
"Yeah" Huiyin chuckled.
She looked at Xiao Shuang for some times before averting her eyes.
Xiao Shuang removed a few strand if hair from her face, lifted her chin up and kissed her.
